After resuming his seat, Sabrina passed the menu to Daniel. “You handle the ordering, Daniel
Daniel nodded and accepted the laminated menu from her hands.

Sabrina then turned her attention to Vincent. Observing him sitting with his head slightly bowed in silence, she could sense his continued preoccupation with Scarlett’s pointed remarks.
“Are you alright?” Sabrina leaned closer, her voice softening into a gentle murmur.
Vincent glanced at her briefly and responded coolly, “I’m fine.”
Sabrina attempted to offer consolation. “Please don’t dwell on what Ms. Theron said. Her comments were completely inappropriate and uncalled for.”
Vincent paused thoughtfully before stating, “Perhaps there was some truth in her words.”
They weren’t speaking loudly, and Daniel remained engrossed in the menu, oblivious to their exchange.
Sabrina expressed her surprise. “What do you mean?”

But Vincent showed no inclination to elaborate further. He simply redirected the conversation. “What would you like to eat?”
Sabrina shook her head dismissively. “Anything is acceptable.”
Vincent nodded and instructed Daniel to order the oysters-knowing they were Sabrina’s favorite.
However, Sabrina’s focus had shifted entirely from food. She slid her chair closer to Vincent, leaning against his shoulder intimately. “Are you truly upset?”
Vincent looked down at her, offering a charming yet somewhat distant smile. “Not particularly.”
While Scarlett’s words had undoubtedly irritated him, they hadn’t provoked genuine anger-merely struck a nerve with their blunt accuracy.
Hearing this, Sabrina rested her head contentedly against Vincent’s arm. “I’m glad.”
Just then, Daniel completed the ordering process. He returned the menu to the waiting staff, then immediately observed the intimate posture between Vincent and Sabrina. A distinct pang of envy shot through him.
“Vincent,” Daniel began, unable to contain his curiosity, “are you still not considering divorcing Scarlett?”
Sabrina lifted her head to study Vincent’s reaction as well.
Vincent hesitated momentarily before responding evenly, “We shall see how circumstances develop.”
Daniel couldn’t restrain his opinions. “She’s been openly involved with numerous men. It’s evident she holds no regard for you.”
Vincent instinctively turned his gaze fully upon Daniel. “You’ve noticed this pattern as well?”

Daniel appeared momentarily confused. “Noticed what?”

Perhaps recognizing his own heightened reaction, Vincent simply dismissed the topic. “It’s unimportant
Leaning against Vincent, Sabrina detected the subtle shift in his mood. Yet observing his composed expression, she allowed herself to relax once more.
Daniel, unwilling to prolong discussion about Scarlett, changed the subject. “Let’s speak no more of this. We should eat-we mustn’t allow Sabrina to grow hungry.”
Both Vincent and Daniel had already dined before arriving, but Sabrina had not.
Within their social circle, everyone acknowledged Scarlett as Vincent’s legal wife, yet collective disapproval followed her-general preference consistently favored Sabrina,
In earlier years, Scarlett had pursued Vincent with relentless determination, seizing every possible opportunity to be near him.
Sabrina presented a stark contrast-gentle, accomplished, intuitively understanding when to advance and when to retreat. She made her affections clear yet never explicitly demanded formal recognition.
When compared directly, collective preference became unmistakably evident.

After concluding their barbecue at an alternative establishment, Nolan drove Scarlett to the Theron Manor.
Following their farewells, Scarlett waited until Nolan’s vehicle had disappeared from view before turning toward the manor.
She had just stepped through the main gate when a powerful arm abruptly encircled her waist, lifting her completely off the ground.
Her captor used only one arm to restrain her. Before she could even initiate struggle, she found herself unceremoniously deposited into a waiting luxury vehicle.
The entire abduction spanned mere seconds-Scarlett literally was carried into the car with her feet dangling helplessly.
Once inside, the distinct scent of fine tobacco filled her nostrils.
Even now, Scarlett hadn’t visually identified her abductor.
