Scarlett, tired of Vincent’s relentless questioning, shot back, “And you? Don’t you have any privacy?”
Vincent replied flatly, “I do.”
Scarlett stood up from the sofa. She stopped engaging and refused to look at him.
But then Vincent’s gaze fixed on the line of her cheek. “Delete Damian.”
Scarlett stiffened. The next moment, she turned to face him. “Why should I?”
Vincent’s expression was cold. He used a deceptively light tone. “What do
you think?”
Those four brief words, delivered with that careless edge, were clearly meant to pressure her.
Scarlett found him ridiculous. “Vincent, I think you need to get your head checked.”
With that, she headed for the lounge door.
But after only two steps, Vincent called after her again. “Scarlett, wait.”
Hearing him, she quickened her pace.
Before she could reach the door, Vincent caught up in a few long strides. He caught her arm and slowly turned her, backing her against the wall.
In an instant, she was trapped once more under his imposing presence.
This time, however, Vincent didn’t cross any lines.
He simply looked down at her, his tone commanding. “Turn around.”
His words brought back memories-times in bed when Vincent had made similar demands.
Not just once; he’d said it before.
Now Scarlett’s mind was crowded with unpleasant recollections.
She didn’t comply, just watched him warily.
Vincent didn’t explain. He gripped her shoulders and turned her firmly so her back was to him.

Before she could struggle or protest, he spoke quietly. “I’m not as vile as you think. The belt on your coat is loose. I’m just fixing it.”
Hearing that, Scarlett belatedly understood.
She stayed silent, letting him adjust the belt.
He seemed practiced, securing it neatly in just a couple of motions.
Scarlett couldn’t help wondering-he must have done this for Sabrina many times.
Once the belt was fixed, Vincent finally said, “There.”
Then, almost reflexively, he gently smoothed her hair, which had been mussed from sleeping.
When he was done, he dropped his hands.
Scarlett didn’t acknowledge it. Vincent continued, “Abbott brought lunch. Let’s go eat.”
After a moment, Scarlett agreed. “Alright.”
They walked out of the lounge one after the other.
The lunch Abbott had brought was lavish, spread out with various dishes.
The coffee table was covered-clearly too much for just the two of them.
As they began eating, Vincent kept adding food to Scarlett’s plate until her small plate was piled high. Only then did he stop and say, “Eat up.”
Scarlett didn’t look at him, only murmured, “Thanks.”
Just then, Vincent’s phone rang.
He glanced down. It was a video call-from Sabrina.
Without much thought, he answered.
The moment the call connected, Sabrina’s cheerful voice came through. “Vincent, are you having lunch?”
Vincent tilted his bowl toward the camera. “Just started.”
Sabrina panned her camera over the lunch spread at Ravenshade Villa. “Look, we’re eating too. Here’s what we have-and Vanessa’s favorite meatballs.”
