No Second Baby No You Only Divorce (Scarlett and Vincent) novel Chapter 536

After watching the sunrise, the group packed up and headed back down the mountain together.

By the time they made it back to the Rivergate area, it was still early.

Scarlett got out of the car with Claire.

Once they were on the sidewalk, the two of them stood there and watched as Zachary and Felix drove off.

From start to finish, Damian hadn't said a single word to Scarlett.

Zachary had picked up on the tension earlier, so after the women got out, he couldn't help but ask, "Hey, did you and Scarlett have a fight?"

Damian's eyes stayed fixed on the rearview mirror, watching the two figures shrink into the distance.

Only after the car turned a corner and they disappeared from sight did he finally answer. "Is it that obvious?"

Zachary nodded. "Yeah, pretty obvious."

Damian clearly didn't want to get into it. "Just take me home. I'm tired."

Zachary glanced over at him. Even when Damian had been seriously injured, he'd insisted on going up that mountain just to be with Scarlett.

And now he was saying he was tired.

Knowing his friend was hurting, Zachary didn't push.

Meanwhile, after making sure Claire got upstairs safely, Scarlett stayed for a bit. She washed up quickly, then said, "Claire, I'm gonna head over to the university."

Claire knew Scarlett was planning to take her grad school entrance exams and continue her studies, so she didn't try to stop her. "Alright. Go ahead."

Downstairs, Scarlett caught a cab to the university where she'd applied for her graduate program.

She didn't really have any business there—she just needed to keep moving, to distract herself.

If she kept busy, maybe the time would pass faster, and the weight in her chest would lift.

Monday was the day after tomorrow.

She wasn't hoping for much anymore. She just wanted Monday to come sooner.

As she was walking, she heard someone call her name. "Scarlett?"

She turned and saw Thomas.

It had been a long time since she'd last run into him.

Seeing him now, there was something oddly comforting about a familiar face.

"Professor Newman," Scarlett said, dipping her head politely.

Thomas walked over, curiosity in his voice. "What brings you here?"

Scarlett shrugged lightly. "Just wanted to come early, get a feel for the place."

Thomas smiled at that. "That confident, are you?"
