No Second Baby No You Only Divorce (Scarlett and Vincent) novel Chapter 607

He yanked her closer, his voice harsh and demanding. "Why did you do it? Tell me. Why?"

In the dim light, Vincent's eyes were unfocused—wild, scattered, completely unhinged.

It was obvious. He thought she was Scarlett.

Sabrina could barely breathe. She clawed at his fingers, forcing out a choked, broken whisper. "Vincent... it's me. It's Sabrina."

Her voice cut through the haze. He blinked, some clarity returning.

He released her throat and dropped his gaze. "Get out."

Sabrina clutched her neck, coughing, her voice cracking with hurt. "Vincent..."

He didn't want to hear it. "I said get out!"

His voice thundered through the room, cold and final.

Sabrina flinched at the force of it.

For a long moment, she couldn't speak. Couldn't move.

Finally, she pulled herself together and walked out of his room.

Downstairs, Lily had just finished plating the duck à l'orange and the lobster bisque.

She set them on the table and looked up just as Sabrina came down the stairs.

Lily opened her mouth to call her for dinner, but Sabrina ran right past her—tears streaming down her face—and out the front door.

Lily watched her go, a flicker of satisfaction crossing her face. She didn't say a word.

Sabrina drove to a small music studio on the other side of town. She came here often—she liked the privacy of the practice rooms. Just her and the piano. No interruptions. No thinking.

Just the music.

Tonight, she needed that more than ever.

She played piece after piece, her face wet with tears the whole time.

She didn't know how long she'd been there. Her fingers ached, her arms heavy, but she kept going until she couldn't anymore.

Finally, she stopped.

She sat there, staring at the keys, thinking about Vincent. About the way he'd looked at her—like she was someone else. About his hands around her throat. Angry, she swept her sheet music off the stand. It scattered across the floor.

Then she slumped over the piano and let herself cry. Not the quiet, graceful tears she usually hid behind. Loud, ugly, unrestrained sobs.

The door opened behind her.
