Damian gave a curt nod, then turned to Eric. "I'll come get you later. Behave while you're here."
Eric nodded obediently. "Yes."
With that, Damian strode out of Theron Manor. Just as he reached the front gate, he nearly collided with Vincent, who was on his way in.
Their eyes met, each holding a distinct edge.
Before Damian could speak, Vincent cut in sharply, "Damian—what are you doing here?"
Damian brushed past him. "I don't have time for this. Scarlett's missing."
Vincent's brow furrowed deeply. "What? I just saw her this morning. How is that possible?"
Damian recalled Scarlett mentioning earlier she wanted some time alone. He couldn't help wondering if Vincent had something to do with it.
But time was tight. Damian wasn't in the mood for an interrogation. He shot Vincent an irritated glare and snapped, "Move."
For once, Vincent didn't retort. He stepped aside, letting Damian and Nathan pass. As they hurried off, Vincent pulled out his phone and called Abbott.
When Abbott answered, Vincent commanded, "Get people on finding my wife. Now."
Half an hour later, Abbott called back.
"Mr. Stewart, we've got a lead. Mrs. Stewart was taken intentionally. Surveillance shows a vehicle headed toward the outskirts. We're still narrowing down the exact location."
Vincent slid into his car and sped toward the suburbs. "Keep digging. Call me as soon as you have something solid."
"Understood," Abbott replied.
Vincent ended the call and focused on the road.
Minutes later, his phone rang again.
This time, it wasn't Abbott—it was Maria.
Seeing her name, Vincent felt a wave of reluctance to answer. He let it ring out.
But barely a moment later, it rang again.
Still Maria. With a frustrated sigh, he finally picked up. "What?"
