Hearing the bait Vincent had dangled, Nathan let out a sharp, cold laugh. "You think I actually care?"
Vincent's expression darkened. He lowered his voice, the threat clear. "Then don't blame me, Nathan, if I make sure no company in this town ever runs their accounts through you again."
Nathan's laugh turned even more sardonic. He stared straight at Vincent. "Is that supposed to be a threat?"
"Take it however you want," Vincent shot back without hesitation.
Nathan didn't seem the least bit bothered. "If you've got the guts, go right ahead. Shut down every business deal I have. But even if you do, what's it really going to change? My family can pack up and leave Rivergate tomorrow. The world's a big place, Vincent. There are plenty of cities you'll never reach."
Vincent was momentarily stunned by the response. "Nathan, you—"
Nathan cut him off with an icy glare. "Anything else? If not, we're done here."
Without waiting for a reply, Nathan slammed the front door shut.
The heavy thud echoed through the entryway, ringing unpleasantly in Vincent's ears.
Shut out so decisively, Vincent clenched his fists at his sides, frustration boiling under his skin.
He was just about to turn away when his phone buzzed. The screen showed Abbott.
Vincent answered sharply, "Talk."
Abbott didn't bother asking why he sounded so angry. He got straight to the point. "We found out. It was Kylie."
There was a brief pause on Vincent's end—a flicker of surprise—before he replied flatly, "Got it."
He hung up, turned on his heel, and slid back into his car.
The engine roared to life, and the vehicle sped off into the night.

It was already eleven at night, but Warren Villa was still brightly lit.
When Damian pulled up to the estate, the butler recognized his car immediately and hurried out to meet him. "Mr. Langley."
Damian didn't return the greeting. He simply strode past him toward the main entrance.
The butler trailed behind, sounding slightly flustered. "Whom are you here to see, Mr. Langley?"
Damian came to an abrupt halt. The butler nearly collided with his back.
Catching his breath, the butler looked up, clearly puzzled.
Damian glanced over his shoulder, his tone cold. "I'm here for Kylie."
Hearing that, the butler broke into a polite smile. "Ah, Ms. Warren often speaks of you. She'll be delighted to know you've come by."
Damian let out a short, humorless laugh. "Is that so?"
