Scarlett gave a quick nod. "Alright."

Dejection washed plainly over Damian's features, his tone turning glum. "I'll lead the way up front. Just keep your car right behind mine."

Scarlett nodded with a soft chuckle. "Got it."

Irked by her easy amusement, Damian reached out and gave a light pinch at her waist. "Keep laughing all you want. Someday I'll make you pay for it, and don't go begging for mercy when that day comes."

His suggestive line made Scarlett's ears burn hot with embarrassment.

Soon after, Damian pulled ahead in his vehicle, with Claire trailing behind at the wheel.

Inside the car, Claire shot her a curious glance. "So are you two officially an item now?"

Scarlett shook her head. "Not yet."

Claire blinked in surprise. "Not yet? Does that mean you're open to giving this a shot?"

Choosing not to hold anything back, Scarlett answered honestly, "Yeah, I've been thinking about it."

"I honestly figured you'd pine away for Vincent forever," Claire said, taken aback. "What changed your mind?"

Scarlett's gaze drifted toward the glowing taillights of Damian's car ahead, her eyes growing distant. Her mind flooded with every little memory of everything he'd done for her over the years.

He'd gone out of his way countless times, making it nearly impossible for her to stay untouched by his devotion.

"Claire, Damian's an amazing guy," she explained gently. "He talks big and flirts nonstop, but his actions always prove he's far more sincere than his words."

Claire laughed, skipping further questions about Damian and cutting straight to the point. "Are you happy with him?"

Scarlett did not hesitate. "I truly am."

Happiness bloomed inside her. Whenever Damian leaned in for a kiss, part of her wanted to pull away out of habit, yet she never once felt repelled by his closeness.

"Good to hear you've sorted your feelings out," Claire murmured with a warm laugh. "You've always told me no woman should waste her whole life stuck on the wrong guy. Damian's handsome, loaded, and even if things don't work out long-term, you've got nothing to lose here."

Scarlett dropped her gaze, falling into quiet thought for a moment before speaking again. "Claire, I want a serious, lasting relationship with him."

She'd never voiced these feelings to Damian directly, yet every word rang true from the bottom of her heart.
