No Second Baby No You Only Divorce (Scarlett and Vincent) novel Chapter 793

Vincent made no move to stop her this time.

The room sweltered under stifling heat, and Scarlett had long since reached her breaking point; staying any longer felt like she'd melt entirely.

She walked to the doorway and curled her fingers around the doorknob to pull it open.

As soon as the door swung out, she spotted Damian, Zachary, and Felix walking toward her not far off. The trio caught sight of Scarlett the instant the door opened and hurried over at once.

Before Scarlett could gather her wits or explain a thing, Damian tugged her out into the hallway.

Zachary quickly slipped his overcoat over her shoulders, while Felix stepped to her opposite side and turned his gaze away.

The two men flanked Scarlett, shielding her safely within their protective circle.

Damian stepped inside the room, his voice dropping to a sharp, stern tone. "Vincent, have you hurt her again?"

Vincent let out a dry, mocking laugh in reply. "What's it to you?"

Blocked from seeing inside by Zachary and Felix, Scarlett stood outside yet clearly heard Damian's furious shout echo from the room.

"I gave you countless chances, and you wasted every single one. If you'd treated her right and spared her all this heartache, I'd never have stepped back into her life. But you can't get anything right—you're nothing but a useless mess."

After his outburst, Damian kept going firmly. "I won't beat around the bush—I'm set on being with Scarlett. Bring whatever tricks you've got straight for me. If you plan to threaten her family to force her into staying with you, you've picked the wrong fight. You'd better run it by me first before you lay a finger on anyone close to her."

He rolled his tongue against his throbbing, sore cheek, his eyes dark and blazing with rage. Then a cold taunting grin tugged at his mouth as he lowered his voice. "Besides, she's mine now. That makes it very much my business."

Those two words—"she's mine"—pierced Vincent like thousands of tiny needles stabbing straight into his chest.

He shifted his eyes from Damian toward the doorway, only to find Damian stepping forward to block his line of sight entirely.

Vincent lifted his head and scoffed, "Mr. Langley, you sure don't bother being picky with women."

Damian knew Vincent was trying to get a rise out of him. He didn't get mad. He just said seriously, "All I know is I love her. Nothing from her past changes how I feel, not ever."
