She was terrified—terrified he'd tell her he refused to sign the divorce papers.
Driven by urge to flee, Scarlett moved to step into the car, but Vincent's voice cut through the air again, "We need to talk."
Her hand froze on the door handle, and after a brief pause, she answered icily without turning, "We've got nothing to talk about."
With that, she leaned down to get inside.
Yet Vincent pressed urgently, "Scarlett, don't forget—we're still legally married."
A bitter scoff broke from Scarlett's lips before she retorted, "Unless it's about signing the divorce papers, there's no reason for us to speak."
Vincent's voice echoed back, chilling and menacing, "Is that right?"
Though she kept her back turned, his sinister tone cut into her like a blade.
For some reason, Scarlett caught a eerie confidence in his words.
As if he held a lethal leverage over her life.
Despite the dread, Scarlett forced herself to stay composed.
Standing by her side, Damian observed Vincent's every move in silence.
Finally turning around, Scarlett fixed her resolute eyes on Vincent, asking with rage, "Where's Vanessa?"
Vincent met her eyes with a dark gaze, answering frostily, "She's taken care of—don't worry."
Easing slightly at his response, Scarlett kept a cold face, whispering, "In that case, move out of our way."
She moved to step into the vehicle once again.
But Vincent lunged forward suddenly, reaching out to grab her wrist.
Swiftly, Damian slapped his hand away.
Stepping in front of Scarlett, Damian shielded her behind his broad back, glaring at Vincent, "Mr. Stewart, you're a married man—putting your hands on my fiancée isn't a good look, is it?"
Vincent let out a cold smirk, his eyes flashing with lethal chill.
