Oh No! They're Salivating Over Me! novel Chapter 7

Herkoen thought he had misheard Daphne. "Repeat what you just said."

His expression was solemn, and his words were filled with threat.

Daphne sat on the bed. Her right hand was trembling under the covers.

"I said I'm pregnant with your child. If you don't want your child to die, let us leave this place unharmed," she said.

"How can you prove that the child is mine?"

"We can go to Hildi Beastkin Hospital—No, that won't work. I'll be giving birth at the end of the month. You can come and look for me again then," said Daphne.

"Hahaha! I can't believe you tried to pull a petty trick in front of me. What if you weren't pregnant with my child, and I can't find you at the end of this month after I let you go? Who are you trying to fool?"

Herkoen did not wish to waste his time talking to her anymore. He grabbed his gun and pointed it right at her.

What should Daphne do? She racked her brain as best as she could.

"Hold on! The data from Mr. Miller's medical report is in the living room. You can go and take a look. It's a report from Hildi Beastkin Hospital, so it's very reliable. It's impossible to fake the report," Britney suddenly chimed in, but what she said was very useful.

"Bring it here," Herkoen ordered.

"Yes, sir." Eric knocked Britney out before he walked to the living room. Then, he transferred the information from the report to his phone.

Herkoen was frozen in place for a long while after he saw the information on the phone.

"Are you alright, Mr. Wenley?" Erin called out to him.

It was only then that he regained his senses. He handed the phone back to Eric and said, "Throw this woman out."

"Yes, sir." Eric was about to throw Britney out of the flying car when Daphne stopped him.

"Hold on! If she dies, I'll kill your child too!" said Daphne.

"What the hell do you want?" This was the first time Herkoen met such a troublesome woman. His anger was burning in his chest.

"I told you to promise me that both of us would be safe," said Daphne.

He suppressed his anger and asked, "Are you sure that's all?"

"Yes, I'm sure." Daphne was incredibly nervous. Would he agree to her terms?

"Alright. I promise to keep this woman safe." Herkoen left the bedroom upon saying that, and Eric followed behind him.

The flying car that was stopped mid-air started moving again.

Daphne could not care so much anymore. She got out of bed to wake Britney up by shaking her.

"Hmm? Ms. Miller?" Britney sprung up out of reflex after she suddenly recalled what had happened before she was knocked out.

"They didn't do anything to you, did they?" she asked.

"I'm fine. You have to keep whatever happened today a secret. You can't tell anybody about this. Do you hear me?" There was a hint of threat in Daphne's voice.

"Don't worry. I've been taking care of you for a long time. You're very gentle to the household staff. You won't lay a finger or raise your voice at us. Also, you were willing to hurt your child to stop them from harming me. You're a good person," said Britney.

Her words made Daphne let her guard down. Daphne remembered that Britney mentioned she was transferred from the Waltzan family. Daphne figured she might have worked under a bad person in the family in the past. But that worked in Daphne's favor since she was able to win her over.

"Are you familiar with this place? Can you see where we're flying to?" Daphne asked.

Britney looked out the window and replied solemnly, "I've been to the city a few times, and I'm only familiar with the roads in the city. I'm not familiar with this place. We might have moved far away from the city."

"What? How dare they? Where are they taking us?"

"People from the Renegade Coalition have been coming to Hildi to harm our people lately. He said earlier that he sent someone to assassinate you. The assassin from the last time has been caught, and he's from the coalition. They must be from the same group," Britney analyzed.

She glanced at Herkoen and saw that he was also looking at her. To not make it look more natural, she asked, "Do you want one too?"

Herkoen sneered. Then, he focused on his phone as his subordinates were reporting to him about the situation.

Daphne did not understand what he meant. Did he want a drink or not?

However, she still grabbed a bottle of beer and put it in front of him. Then, she sat across from him.

Herkoen glanced at the beer and sneered. "Are you planning to get me drunk so you can run away?"

"No, you're overthinking it. I just figured you might like beer," replied Daphne.

"Oh? Why do you think so?" He put down his phone and looked at her with interest, trying to get some other information from her face.

"You've blocked all communication devices in the flying car. The Robo is not working anymore. Other than beer, there's only juice in the fridge. And you—don't look like a juice person," said Daphne.

Herkoen smiled. "Your observation is surprisingly accurate."

Then, he picked up the beer bottle and opened it with his bare hands.

Daphne was stunned. Were his hands made of steel? Did it not hurt?

"Tsk, tsk. The Walzan family has fallen. How can they serve a beer like this?" He then tossed the beer aside, looking disgusted.

"You should be grateful that you have something to drink, yet you're being picky instead," Daphne muttered under her breath.

"What are you muttering about?"

"Nothing. I wanted to ask you where we are going," said Daphne.

Herkoen looked at her with interest and said, "My home, of course. You've gone to such lengths to get pregnant with my child. Was it not all because of my status?"
