Once a Doormat Now Untouchable (Caleb and Sydney) novel Chapter 510

**When The Ocean Learned My Name and Whispered It Back to You by Aurelia Novel 510**

**Chapter 510**

As Sydney spoke, Julian reached over with an effortless grace, selecting a rib from the platter and placing it delicately onto her plate.

“There are toiletries and fresh clothes waiting for you upstairs,” he said, his voice steady and unflappable. “All brand new. Later, you should go up and see if there’s anything you might need. I’ll arrange for someone to prepare it for you.”

Sydney’s eyes widened in surprise. “There are?” she echoed, her mind racing.

It was hard to fathom that in a house devoid of any other young women, her belongings could possibly be waiting for her arrival.

“Ever since that time you came back to return my suit, this place has been kept ready for you,” Julian continued, his tone smooth and measured, as if he were discussing the weather rather than the intricate details of her life.

He didn’t elaborate on who had orchestrated this meticulous preparation or who had given the directive. Yet, it was clear that no one would have dared to act without his explicit consent.

Sydney paused, allowing the weight of his words to settle in her mind. So, ever since she had dropped by to return his suit, he had already made the decision that if she ever returned, this would be her home.

A warmth blossomed within her chest, spreading like sunlight breaking through clouds. She didn’t say thank you; it felt unnecessary, as if gratitude couldn’t encompass the depth of what he had done.

Raymond observed the exchange quietly, a pang of humility washing over him. Just moments ago, he had thought Julian’s elaborate planning was excessive, perhaps even a bit theatrical. Now, however, he found himself in admiration of it. Each of Julian’s moves seemed to flow effortlessly into the next, and rather than feeling manipulated, Sydney appeared genuinely touched.

‘A true master,’ he thought to himself, impressed by the subtlety and skill of Julian’s intentions.

After dinner, Julian gestured for Sydney to follow him upstairs to check the room, ensuring she had everything she might need.

She didn’t protest; she had already agreed to stay and care for Agatha for a few days, so it made perfect sense to settle in comfortably.

He led her to a door on the right side of the second-floor landing. Sydney recalled that his study was just adjacent, a reminder of the life they once shared.
