Sydney nodded, a small yet resolute affirmation. “Yes.”

Julian, with a contemplative look crossing his features, replied, “I’ll go with you.” His voice held a hint of determination, as if he was ready to face whatever lay ahead.

After a brief pause, he ventured, “If you happen to meet Jeremiah again in the next few days, please take me along.” There was an edge of unease in his tone. Something about the entire situation gnawed at him. Despite the fact that Jeremiah had not done anything overtly harmful to Sydney, an instinctive worry crept into Julian’s mind. Perhaps it was just his imagination running wild, but he couldn’t shake the feeling.

Sydney, sensing his concern, nodded in agreement without hesitation. “Alright.” Her voice was steady, reassuring him that she was capable of handling herself.

With breakfast behind them, they set off together into the bustling world outside. As they reached the courtyard, they parted ways—Julian heading toward Sterling Corp., while Sydney made her way to the clinic.

For once, she had allowed herself to sleep in, and as she arrived at the clinic, she found herself right on schedule.

As she hurried through the entrance, a familiar voice called out from the waiting area, “Dr. Wilson, slow down! We’re not in that much of a hurry.” It was one of her regular patients, and the playful tone lightened the air around her.

In the past, Sydney would often begin calling her patients a good half-hour early, sometimes even before that. But now, with the new life growing inside her, her patients had become more understanding, even protective.

“Okay,” she replied with a smile, though her pace remained brisk. She strode into the consultation room, shedding her trench coat with a practiced ease, donning her white coat as she prepared to call in her patients.

Today, Charlotte’s grandmother had come in for her appointment as well. Even without Charlotte by her side, Sydney recognized her instantly, her heart warming at the sight.

Sydney checked the elderly woman’s pulse with gentle precision, asked a series of questions, adjusted the prescription, and handed it over with care. Noticing the worry etched on the old woman’s face, she offered a reassuring smile. “As long as you follow the treatment plan, you’ll keep getting better. There’s no need to worry.”

Years spent in the clinic had taught her that illness could rattle even the strongest souls, regardless of age. While medicine played a crucial role, sometimes a single sentence from a doctor could hold more weight than a thousand reassurances from family members.

As she had anticipated, Charlotte’s grandmother visibly relaxed, a smile breaking through her earlier concern. Gratefully, she thanked Sydney before leaving with her husband to collect the prescribed medicine.
