Chapter 450: I’m Conservative**

What is he up to now?

Aella took a deep breath, her heart racing as she prepared herself. With a steely resolve, she cleared her throat and opened the door, her expression carefully crafted to appear indifferent.

Standing before her was Daniel. The sight of him sent a jolt through her, and she quickly adjusted her demeanor. “Daniel? What brings you here?” she asked, trying to sound casual, but the surprise in her voice betrayed her.

He stood there, a few boxes of health supplements cradled in his arms. Tall and lean, he exuded an air of effortless sophistication, dressed in a fitted turtleneck and a long coat that spoke of wealth and privilege. There was something both understated and luxurious about his appearance.

Daniel’s gaze flickered past her, as if searching for something beyond the confines of her apartment. “Aella, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately. I really feel that I owe your parents a proper apology. I need to explain everything—”

Panic surged through Aella before he could finish his sentence. Without a second thought, she grabbed his arm, yanked him inside, and slammed the door shut behind them, the sound echoing in the quiet hallway.

Daniel set the boxes down with a soft thud. “Are your parents home?” he asked, his brow furrowing with concern.

She let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding. Thank goodness they weren’t home.

With a serious expression, she pointed to her head, as if to emphasize her maturity. “Daniel, I’m an adult now. I can make my own decisions. You don’t need to involve my parents in this.”

He stood before her, his demeanor gentle yet resolute. “I sent you overseas to study, but I didn’t protect you. I let you down. I need to face your parents, tell them the truth, and apologize,” he insisted, the weight of his words hanging in the air.

Aella felt heat rush to her cheeks at the memory of that chaotic night. “Stop bringing that up!” she exclaimed, her voice sharper than intended.

“We were both drunk that night. It was an accident. Just let it go. You don’t have to take responsibility for it, and we’re never discussing it again. Please, don’t overthink this,” she pleaded, her heart pounding with anxiety.

Daniel’s expression shifted to one of deep concern. “Aella, I may be older, but I’ve never been with anyone else. That night was my first time. I can’t just pretend it didn’t happen because you want me to.”

She was momentarily at a loss for words, the gravity of his admission hitting her hard.

“I’m conservative when it comes to relationships,” he added, his voice steady.

Aella had always viewed him as the epitome of stability and restraint. She never imagined he would speak so openly about such intimate matters, his calm demeanor almost disarming.

She winced at his words. “Can you give me some time to process this?” she asked, feeling overwhelmed.

Daniel frowned slightly, his concern deepening. “You’re not avoiding this because of Mr. Winter, are you?”

The mention of Tyrone sent a wave of dread through her. “What does he have to do with us?” she shot back, feeling a mix of frustration and embarrassment.

In her heart, she knew that any possibility of a future with Tyrone was impossible as long as she held onto those memories.

A glimmer of something flickered in Daniel’s eyes.

He took a step closer, tentatively reaching for her hand. “Aella, how about we date?”

Her eyes darted to the doorway, a rush of panic flooding her.

“Daniel, you’re the Hills’ third son in West District, managing thousands of Westside Hospital branches. I’m just a newly regularized junior doctor. I don’t want people gossiping about us,” she said, her voice trembling slightly.
