Chapter 488 She is Not Your Daughter
Sophia thought she had a point, so she shut up.
Michael said, “Zera just joined the Hills, and she already dared to pick on Aurelia. Grandma spoils her with no limits and always takes her side. Sooner or later, she’s going to bring trouble on the Hills.”
Thomas sighed. “She’s your Uncle Caleb’s only child, so she is family. Your grandma insists on protecting her no matter what, and that puts us in a tough spot.”
Lysander added, “Tyrone is ruthless in business. He’s got a reputation for being heartless and unreasonable. Of all people, Zera just had to cross that cold–blooded demon.”
Michael reminded them, “From what I found, the Cunninghams already paid a heavy price for trying to help Zera and her aunt. Tyrone hit them up for money more than once. Even after it was all over, Tyrone didn’t let up. He teamed up with other big players to squeeze the Cunninghams out of business. At this rate, the Cunningham Group is about to go under, and it’s clear Tyrone wants to destroy them.”
Michael said, “If Zera keeps provoking Tyrone, he’ll end up going after the Hills next.”
Lysander noticed Daniel sitting there looking lost and chimed in, “Dad, Mom, Grandma’s lost her mind, but you two need to stay sharp.”
Thomas was simply frustrated.
He pointed at his kids and said, “Can you all wait till we’re done eating before you start in on all this?”
The Hill siblings fell silent.
They kept their parents company while they ate, talking quietly in their parents‘ bedroom.
In the huge dining room, only Natasha and Zera were at the table.
Natasha was upset that everyone else refused to join them, but she didn’t say anything.
Natasha tried to comfort Zera. “Don’t be upset. The other kids didn’t grow up with you, so it’s only natural that they don’t feel close to you. But they did look for you all day. Sophia even walked until her feet were blistered. They tried their best.”
Zera tried to reassure her. “Grandma, it was my fault to begin with. How could I blame them?”

Zera made an excuse to go back to her room and secretly called Anna.
Anna went downstairs to answer Zera’s call.
After hearing how Zera was being isolated and ignored, Anna felt both worried and heartbroken.
Just then, she spotted Shirley and Daphne hurrying into a black luxury car.

“Zera, something’s come up. I’ll call you back later,” Anna said and hung up, following them.
Did Shirley’s family get in with some rich people while we were hiding overseas?
Inside the black car, Jasmine watched Shirley and Daphne gape at everything like country bumpkins. She covered her mouth, frowning in distaste.
Shirley forced a polite smile. “We don’t know you. What do you want from us?”
Jasmine sighed. “You don’t need to know who I am. I’m just here to give you a heads up because I can’t stand by and do nothing.”
Could that little vixen have gone after another man and gotten us in trouble again?

Daphne, who could read, quickly snatched it.
Jasmine explained, “Zera’s real mother is Anna. The baby you had prematurely years ago didn’t survive. The Caldwells tricked you.”
Shirley stared, shocked. “That’s nonsense! Zera is my daughter!”
She’d always favored her son’s family, but she’d still raised Zera with her own hands.
Meanwhile, Anna had been off living it up and never cared about them.
Daphne looked stunned, gripping the paperwork with doubt.
She asked Shirley, “How can you be so clueless? If you’re not sure, just do a paternity test!”
Jasmine nodded. “Zera’s real mother is Anna. Her biological father was Caleb Hill, the Hills‘ second son. Caleb died in a car accident years ago, leaving Zera as his only child.”
She continued, “Zera already did a DNA test with the Hills. They even held a welcome dinner for her and have officially acknowledged her as family. She’s the Hills‘ heiress now. Didn’t she tell you?”
