Aella kept walking without slowing down.
Sure enough, family blood was something you could never really cut off.

Workers at the hospital heard Zera call Daniel “rother,” and they all looked at her with envy.
“So she’s the adopted girl the Hills just took in. She does have a nice vibe.”
“I heard the three Hills brothers treat their sister like a princess. She’s super lucky.”
“I’m so jealous of her.”
Hearing all the whispers, Zera felt proud and pleased with herself.
Daniel glanced over at Zera and frowned. “Why are you here?”
Zera walked closer and lowered her voice. “Daniel, I need to tell you somet
Daniel didn’t like her at all. “I’m busy.”
He turned to leave, but Zera smiled and said, “It’s about Dr. Reid.”
Ten minutes later, they were in Daniel’s office.
Daniel asked, “All right, can you
talk now?”
With a flattering smile, Zera said, “Daniel, have you and Dr. Reid been arguing lately?”
Daniel’s eyes
turned sharp. “Where did you get that idea?”
Zera smiled again. “Daniel, whether you like it or not, we’re family now. And Dr. Reid is my friend. If you need help, just tell me. I’d love to help you two.”
Daniel’s look held a warning. “Zera, mind your own business. Don’t get involved in things that aren’t yours. And also…”

Daniel stopped for a moment, then said, “If it’s not an emergency, don’t come to the hospital for no reason. You can leave now.”
His assistant opened the office door and led Zera out.
At the doorway, Zera stared at the closed door, refusing to accept what had just happened.
She had planned to get close to Daniel, win him over, and use that chance to secure her place in the Hills.
But he didn’t even listen to a single thing she said. Instead, he even warned her.
And then there was Aella.
She had been helping Aella out of kindness, trying to push her forward, yet Aella still rejected her without emotion.
What was wrong with these people?
Did she misunderstand everything? Maybe they weren’t dating?
Around lunchtime, Daniel ran into Aella again near the hospital entrance.
He wanted to talk things out with her.
Aella thought for a second, then agreed.
Perfect–she also needed to make things clear.
They went to the café across the street.
Daniel started talking first. “Aella, I’m not the kind of guy who won’t let go. I just don’t understand why you suddenly became distant. I want to know the reason.”
Aella’s face turned calm and serious.
She said, “Daniel, I’ve thought about it. I just want to focus on my work. I don’t have the time or energy for dating.”
Daniel still didn’t understand. “I promise I won’t bother you while you’re working. And if you feel like I’m using up your free time, I can stay away then, too.”
“Daniel, this isn’t about time I just don’t want to think about dating right now.
