Aella focused on shaping a tiny clay figure that looked like Tyrone. Tyrone sat beside her. scrolling on his phone to keep her company.

More than 40 minutes later, Aella pushed the finished figure toward him. “Tyrone, hurry and praise me!”

Tyrone stared at the figurine in her hands–bare all over–then reached out, pushed it away. stood up, and paid the vendor.

Aella held the figure up proudly in front of him. I made it to look like you. Does it look like you?”

Tyrone took her hand and kept walking.

Aella chattered as she followed him. “The wig looks a bit fake. I’ll trim it when we get home. Then I’ll make clothes for it. Being naked really doesn’t look good.”

She pushed the clay figure toward him again. “But it’s fine. I left out one part on purpose.”

She pointed between the figure’s legs.

Tyrone covered Aella’s mouth at once and slipped the clay figure into her tote.

Just then, his phone rang.

Aella stopped at a stall to pick out hair ties while Tyrone walked to a quieter spot to answer the call.

Aella chose two hair ties. When Tyrone still hadn’t come back, she paid and turned to look for him. She accidentally bumped into two drunk men.

The two of them were reeking of alcohol. Their eyes lit up when they saw Aella’s face, and they reached out and wanted to get handsy.

Before they could touch her clothes, Tyrone rushed over and kicked them away.

Aella looked at the clay figurine she had worked so hard on being shattered into pieces. She stamped her feet in anger. “Tyrone, it broke!”

Tyrone pulled her away. “Just two drunk guys. Don’t bother with them.”

Aella had delicate features and was very pretty, especially her eyes.

Maybe because she had played the violin for years, she had a lively personality but an elegant air. She stood out in any crowd.

Because of this, her parents always worried when she went out alone. They wouldn’t allow it unless Tyrone was with her.

Luckily, he hadn’t gone far.

Aella held the broken pieces up to him, arms and legs snapped off. “But this doll was meant to keep me company when you’re not around.”

Tyrone looked at her wronged expression. Something stirred quietly in his eyes.

He lowered his voice without thinking. “Next time, when we have time, I’ll bring you here to make another one.”

Aella gave a soft grunt. She pouted and made Tyrone take her to buy some snacks up ahead.

Tyrone walked a few steps ahead, then stopped when he noticed she wasn’t following. He turned back.
