Chapter 620 A New Plan

No matter what, Zera absolutely couldn’t leave the Hills.

Seeing that Natasha was being swayed, Anna quickly spoke up.

“Mrs. Natasha, even if our Zera is crippled, even if she has made mistakes, she is still Caleb’s only daughter. Why shouldn’t she inherit Hills property?”

Anna begged Natasha, “Mrs. Natasha, you are Zera’s biological grandmother. If you won’t even give her this bit of support, what strength does she have left to keep living in this world?”

She turned to Zera, “Zera, our lives are so miserable. We might as well die. Why even bother with more treatment…

As she wailed, Anna reached for Zera on the hospital bed and tried to pull out the IV needle from the back of her hand.

Anna’s drama gave the members of Thomas’s family a headache, but none of them stepped forward to stop her.

Seeing that no one stopped her, Anna slowly quieted down on her own.

Lilian glanced at Anna with disgust and turned her face away.

Michael comforted his parents, saying, “Dad, Mom, you’ve already done more than enough for our late uncle. Let’s go.”

The members of Thomas’s family prepared to leave.

Natasha spoke up to stop them. “It wasn’t easy for the Hills to achieve what it has today. Forget about dividing the property, but Zera must stay in the Hills. I won’t allow you to send her abroad!”

Thomas said, “Mom, the Winters is still waiting for our reply. This isn’t something we can decide on our own.”

Natasha said, “Zera’s legs are already ruined. From now on, she will stay by my side. I’ll have people watch her closely and forbid her from stepping out of the Hills estate.”

Natasha said, “As for the Winters, I have a way to make Tyrone stop pursuing this matter. You just need to promise me that you’ll treat Zera well in the future. I will naturally take care of the rest.”

Seeing this, Thomas’s family had no choice but to give in.

Thomas spoke, “If you can persuade the Winters to let Zera go and if Zera behaves herself, stays inside the Hills, and stops causing trouble, then my wife and I will definitely take care of her as if she were our own child.”

Natasha nodded in satisfaction. “Then it’s settled!”

Michael glanced at Anna. He stepped forward to help Natasha up. “Grandma, you’ve been exhausted these past few days. I’ll help you go back and rest.”

Natasha nodded happily. “You really are the best.”

Michael exchanged a look with his parents, then they led Natasha out of the hospital room.

The hospital room door was closed.

Anna sat by the bed and held Zera’s hand with guilt. “I’m sorry, Zera. I already know I was wrong.”

Zera disgustedly shoved Anna’s hand away and blamed her. “If you hadn’t been so shameless and become someone’s mistress, how could Tyrone have used that against us? My reputation is ruined and the Hills hates me because of you!”

Anna looked at Zera in disbelief. With red eyes, she said, “Zera, I did it for our survival! I was tricked by a man!”

Anna continued, “I promise I’ll never look for another man again. I’ll take good care of you.”

Zera stared hard at Anna and said, “No! You have to find one! You must!”

For a moment, Anna didn’t understand what Zera meant. “Zera, you still won’t forgive me?”

Zera said irritably, “On the surface, it looks like that old woman is in charge of the Hills, but real power has long been taken by Thomas’s family!”

Zera added, “My legs are already ruined. In that old woman’s eyes, I’m already useless. She won’t truly fall out with Thomas’s family for my sake.”

Anna nodded firmly. “You’re right, Zera. As soon as Thomas’s family applied pressure today, that old woman immediately went back on her word. Especially your eldest brother–he’s always good at making that old woman happy.”

Zera said to Anna, “Mom, now that the Hills sees me as crippled and useless, they want to detain me indirectly. You can’t go back to the Hills with me. We need a backup plan.”

Anna held Zera’s hand, her eyes tearing up. “Zera, as long as you forgive me, I’ll do whatever you want!”
