Virginia pulled Aella aside and gently reasoned with her. “Aella, what’s done is done. That bastard Zach put his hands on you, and Tyrone already took his arm for it. Do you think we can leave it here?”

Aella lowered her eyes, thinking it over.

Virginia was right to worry about Tyrone–she was his mother, after all.

When Aella didn’t respond, Virginia squeezed her hand.

“Aella, there are a thousand ways to make them pay. We don’t have to settle it all tonight.”

Aella met Virginia’s eyes and, after a moment of hesitation, nodded.

Virginia visibly relaxed. “I know my son’s temper. Find a way to get him out of here. I’ll handle the rest.”

Aella nodded.

She walked over to Tyrone and reached for his hand.

Tyrone laced his fingers through hers and pulled her into his chest. “Whatever my mom said to you, ignore it.”

Aella suddenly clutched her head with both hands. “Ow, my head is killing me. Take me to the hospital, quick.”

Virginia jumped in immediately. “Did Aella hit her head? Tyrone, get her to the hospital right now. Your father and I will take care of things here.”

Tyrone scanned the scene, then bent down, scooped Aella into his arms, and walked away.

After Tyrone and Aella left, Virginia’s expression slowly hardened.

She warned the Townsends, “Mrs. Townsend, Mr. Townsend–for the sake of everything our families have shared over the years, you can take Zach and Jenny. This ends here.”

Matthew immediately ordered his people to cut Zach down and rush him to the hospital.

Ralph pointed at Zach and Jenny and delivered a firm warning.

“Mrs. Townsend, Mr. Townsend–from this day forward, the Winters and the Reids do not want to see either of these two anywhere in Vleka. If we do, don’t expect me to be civil about it.”

Matthew steadied Beatrice and nodded repeatedly. “Mr. Winter, you have my word. Let me get these two to the hospital first. I’l arrange to send them both overseas as soon as possible. They will never cross your path again.”

Beatrice sighed. “As for the project you mentioned, the Townsends will hand it over personally. Consider it our apology to Ms.

Reid.”
