Oops I Accidentally Ended Her Fake Perfect Life novel Chapter 31

**TITLE: Across the Fallen Golden Kingdom Distant Fires by Damon S. Creed**

**Chapter 2**

What an absurdity.

Once upon a time, such a line was the kind of taunt that the Black Viper Syndicate would hurl at others, a cruel jab meant to belittle and dominate.

And now, here it was, being flung back at me like a boomerang, sharp and stinging.

A cold chuckle escaped my lips as I narrowed my gaze, feeling the fire ignite within me.

“You genuinely believe you’re someone of importance just because you’re cowering behind Charles Whitmore? I’d wager he wouldn’t utter something as foolish as that. So tell me, who the hell do you think you are?”

“What the hell?!” she shot back, her voice a mix of disbelief and fury.

“Yes, I’m referring to you as foolish,” I replied, my tone dripping with disdain.

“You, you witch!” she spat, her anger palpable in the air.

With a swift motion, she raised her hand, aiming to slap me across the face, but I sidestepped with ease, watching as she tumbled to the ground, her pride bruised along with her ego.

“Wow, Bianca. One harsh sentence from me and you go full dramatic with a faceplant? I appreciate the commitment to the performance,” I remarked, crossing my arms, a smirk playing at the corners of my mouth.

With a flurry of movement, she scrambled to her feet, her finger jabbing toward me as she seethed with rage. “You’ll regret this!”

I met her fiery gaze with a flat expression. “If you don’t clean up that mouth of yours, I might just take it upon myself to help you with that.”

Years of rigorous training at the hands of the best martial arts instructors in the country had prepared me well for confrontations like this.

Women like Bianca? I could easily take on three of her with one hand tied behind my back.

Under my unwavering glare, she faltered, the fire in her eyes dimming as silence enveloped her.

A crowd had begun to gather, their eyes wide with curiosity, eager to witness the unfolding drama.

But I had no desire to put on a show for a bunch of strangers.

I bent down, retrieving my card from the floor, the weight of the bag in my hand feeling like an anchor. Turning to leave, I hoped to escape the scene, but Bianca had other plans.

She stepped in front of me once more, her defiance still intact.

This was her final chance to back down.

I raised my foot, fully prepared to shove her aside with a swift kick.

“Stop!”

A deep, commanding voice boomed from behind me, halting my movement.

Instantly, Bianca transformed, her expression shifting to one of faux distress as she rushed over.

“Did you consume something foul before arriving here? Or were you simply born with that filthy mouth of yours? What happened to basic manners?”

His expression darkened further. “Manners? For someone like you?”

“I don’t care what you did to earn my father’s approval for this setup. I refuse to marry some backwater hick like you.”

Bianca, ever the opportunist, looped her arm through his, a smug smirk plastered across her face. “With that ugly mug, do you really think you’re worthy of a man like Charles?”

The crowd jumped in, eager to join the fray.

“Look at her outfit, probably worth less than a hundred bucks.”

“And she wants to marry Charles Whitmore? Dream on!”

“She’s just a desperate spinster. Somebody throw cold water on her and wake her up!”

I wasn’t claiming to be a world-class beauty, sure, but I was far from hideous.

Yet here they were, labeling me as some unattractive old maid.

This world really did bend over backward for men, didn’t it?

I crossed my arms, my voice icy as I declared, “I would never, ever marry you. Go tell your daddy I’m not interested.”
