Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights novel Chapter 519

Chapter 519: Three Blows

Cain sat beyond the clouds. His throne was obscured by a dense veil of cloud, but even that could not obstruct his piercing gaze as he watched the battle below.

He watched the True Orc move with terrifying power and skill. The earth bore witness to his raw might. Craters scarred the battlefield, while massive ravines split the land in several places. Fields of wheat had been flattened, and entire trees had toppled into the newly formed chasms.

The landscape itself had changed. A battle of the gods indeed. All this devastation from nothing more than blows and kicks.

Even from where he sat above it all, Cain could see the earth trembling. Cracks continued to spread across the battlefield, widening beneath the violence of their clash. This was damage that could not be easily undone.

’You have little clue who you are fighting.’ Cain’s eyes flickered with mocking pity as he stared at the orc.

He turned his gaze toward the black being and frowned. ’So this is what Gabriel feared. War. Blood. The very essence of combat. You are shrouded because you embody something every one understands, yet no one can truly define. Violence itself, wrapped in a layer of justified reasoning.’

Cain lifted his chin. ’Gabriel was right. You have become invincible. Something even I would never have conceived – a king above every single person who prides himself on violence, the origin standing above all their skill. Oh, Godfrey. You’ve made a crippling move. Smart.’

His eyes went back to Kabsal. ’You must think you’ve made the right bargain. I thought so too. But... you’ve been utterly deceived.’

Below, Kabsal threw a punch. The unknown King answered with his fist. Their knuckles collided and the rippling force from the impact threatened to hurl Kabsal backward.

He refused to obey. The orc held firm as the earth split between them. The ravine widened rapidly, both sides pulling apart until a dark crooked chasm separated them.

"Fight me!" Kabsal roared. Every attack Kabsal threw at him was answered in kind, his own force met and negated. It was infuriating.

With a mad roar, Kabsal leaped across the ravine and drove a fist downward. The unknown raised an arm beneath the descendants fist, lowered his body and planted both heels firmly into the earth.

The force travelled through his body and into the earth. Web-like cracks exploded beneath his feet as the ground sank a hundred feet. A ring of dust blasted outward.

The Unknown King looked up. His eyes met Kabsal’s. They both saw it. Kabsal’s abdomen was wide open.

Kabsal bellowed and drove his knee upward, attacking before the Unknown King could exploit the opening. If he was fast enough, he could stop the counterattack and land a devastating blow of his own.

A good instinct. But the Unknown King saw otherwise. He saw fear. Yet, he retreated. "You are afraid." He said.

"What?!"

"You answer fear with anger. A good instinct, I have to say. Unfortunately, you have me as your opponent."

"You’re delusional, aren’t you?" Kabsal scowled, stepped in and swung a brutal kick toward the Unknown King’s ribs.

He saw exactly what the orc intended; to crush his ribcage. But why let Kabsal do all the work?

He punched the incoming knee. Crack!

Kabsal recoiled as his kneecap shifted out of place. Something flashed through his eyes.

The Unknown King knew that look. Fear. And he knew it all too well. What was a fight without fear? A battle’s comrade, the brother of courage.
