"Hmph!" Charles Reed glanced at Chloe Reed in the corner and snorted. "She’s spoiled and reckless. Give her the shares? Do you want her to bankrupt the Reed Group? It would be one thing if they could be loving sisters and support each other, but she’s constantly targeting her older sister. That makes it even more impossible for me to give her the shares."
Autumn Linton’s expression grew complicated as she carefully considered Charles Reed’s proposal.
Sunny Reed stood silently to the side, looking obedient and sensible.
Chloe Reed’s nails dug into her palms, the pain keeping her lucid and rational. "I won’t let you do this," she said.
But Charles Reed retorted, "You’re not the one who calls the shots in the Reed family yet."
"If you dare give her the shares, I’ll make sure you don’t get a single day of peace," Chloe Reed said, her eyes red and her voice uncompromising. "We’ll see who gives in first."
At her words, Charles Reed’s expression soured. Staring at her emotionless face, he realized she was capable of following through on her threat.
Charles Reed’s face was grim. "You’re only acting this way because your mother and I spoil you. But if you continue to run wild like this, do you really think we’ll keep letting you get away with it?"
He paused, his tone softening a little. "Sunny is your older sister. Just apologize to her, admit you were wrong, and get along peacefully from now on. If you do, I’ll give you five percent of the shares as well."
Autumn Linton nodded. "Yes, giving some to both of you is only fair. Chloe, just apologize to your sister. She’s kind-hearted and has never held any of this against you, but she must feel hurt inside. If you just show the right attitude, we can all move past this."
"Hah!"
Chloe Reed scoffed. ’So, after all this drama, this was all just to make me bow my head to Sunny Reed?’
’From the moment she’d seen Sunny Reed’s true colors, she had never once bowed her head to her!’
’Letting Sunny Reed get her way? I’d rather die.’
"I will never apologize to her. She got hit because she deserved it."
