Chapter 117: Chapter 117: I Want Julian to Come Back to Life

Sunny Reed assumed someone had been whispering in Walker Grant’s ear, and his actions were a warning to her.

It never even crossed her mind that Chloe Reed would be the one to tell on her.

That social media post was only visible to Chloe Reed.

So, on the surface, she managed to remain calm.

Walker Grant watched her, his dark, almond-shaped eyes exceptionally cold. "Do you really love my older brother?" he asked, his tone flat.

Sunny Reed immediately nodded. "That’s right. I only love your brother. If I didn’t love him, I wouldn’t have given birth to Noah."

Walker Grant considered this for a moment before saying, "Alright. You can take Noah with you."

At his words, Sunny Reed breathed a sigh of relief.

She turned, walked over to Noah Grant, and bent down to pull him into her arms. "Noah, did you miss Mommy?" she asked softly.

Noah Grant looked at her and nodded. "Yeah, I did."

Sunny Reed kissed his little cheek and said, "How about we go home with Mommy?"

"Okay."

Noah Grant seemed to grow more obedient.

She picked Noah Grant up and started walking out.

Just then, there was a knock, and Dylan Finch came in.

He paused for a moment when he saw her, then immediately turned to Walker Grant. "Mr. Grant," he said, "I have an update on the matter you asked me to look into."

Without even looking up, Walker Grant said, "Go on."

Dylan Finch, however, hesitated.

Seeing his hesitation, Sunny Reed tactfully said, "Walker, I’ll be going then."

Dylan Finch nodded. "Regarding the earthquake back then, the young madam was indeed at the scene. There were also witnesses who saw her rescue you." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

She paused, appearing to think for a moment before adding, "I used to wonder if you were so indulgent and protective of her because of this. I thought that if you learned the truth, you might pull back a bit. Then she might realize just how unreasonable she’s being and start to be more rational."

She played the part perfectly—a woman forced to reveal the truth against her will, as if she had silently suffered this injustice for far too long.

Walker Grant listened to her quietly, his handsome, sharp-featured face betraying no emotion.

Sunny Reed continued, "Walker, I don’t have any malicious intent in telling you this. I just wanted you to know the truth. Please don’t read too much into it."

"What do you want?" Walker Grant suddenly asked.

"What?" Sunny Reed was taken aback for a moment.

Walker Grant said, "You saved my life. That’s a debt I intend to repay. So, you can tell me what you want directly, and I’ll do my best to grant it."

At his words, Sunny Reed lowered her gaze, a bitter expression touching her features. "The only thing I’ve ever wanted," she said, "is for Julian to be alive again."

Walker Grant fell silent.
