Chapter 133: Chapter 133: But That Person Wasn’t Me

A flicker of wariness crossed Chloe Reed’s eyes.

’Did he come all this way just to corner me?’

’Does he want to snatch the earrings back for Sunny Reed?’

Her expression tensed as she walked toward the exit, one step at a time.

She wanted to just ignore him.

But the hallway was narrow, and he was so tall and long-legged that she wouldn’t be able to get past him if he so much as stretched out a leg.

Her clear eyes fixed on him mockingly. "What do you want? Done eating with your second wife?"

Walker Grant’s strong brows knitted together, and the expression on his handsome, sharp-featured face cooled. "Why say things like that? It only hurts you to say them."

"Isn’t it the truth?" The sarcasm in Chloe Reed’s voice grew heavier. "What are you doing here?"

Walker Grant’s dark eyes were fixed on her as he pulled a small box from his trouser pocket and offered it to her.

Chloe Reed glanced at it but didn’t take it. She just stared at him coldly. "What is this?"

Walker Grant grabbed her hand, pressed the box into it, and said, "Chloe, I just want to settle my debt with her. She saved me."

"I was the one who saved you!"

But Chloe Reed threw the box down. The mockery vanished from her face, her expression growing even more strained.

Walker Grant’s frown deepened. "I’ve investigated it thoroughly, Chloe. You did save someone back then, but it wasn’t me."

"You’re full of shit!"

Chloe Reed refused to accept what he was saying as fact.

She remembered it with perfect clarity. The person she had saved was him!

And now, he was treating Sunny Reed as his savior.

He was trying his best to grant Sunny Reed’s every wish.

She took a deep breath to calm herself down and said, "Walker Grant, when it comes to things I want, I’d rather tear them to shreds and throw them away than ever let Sunny Reed have them. And don’t you even think about snatching them from me to give to her."

With that, she walked right past him.

Walker Grant reached out to grab her, but his gaze fell to the small box on the floor.
