"You won those for Sunny." Charles’s tone grew stern. "If you make a promise, you should keep it. Chloe might be immature, but how can you be as well?"

But Walker said, "They’re just a pair of sapphire earrings. My wife likes them. Am I supposed to snatch away something she adores just to give it to someone else?"

"But Chloe clearly snatched them!" Charles could barely contain his fury. "Both of you are being so childish! Sunny has never asked for anything. All she wanted were those earrings. Why couldn’t you just let her have them?"

Walker lifted his gaze, his dark, deep eyes fixed on him. "Dad, my wife and I already fought over this. And now you’re telling me to take the earrings back and give them to Sunny? Are you trying to make us fight again?"

Charles fell silent.

After a moment, he finally said, "If Sunny can’t have the sapphires, I’ll go back to our original agreement and give her three percent of the Reed Group’s shares as compensation. Walker, you will stay out of this."
