She kept glancing at the rearview mirror.
The car following them was expensive, and the license plate looked familiar. Her brow furrowed involuntarily.
Up ahead was a turn, and the traffic had thinned out considerably.
Chloe Reed was making the turn when, out of nowhere, the car behind her suddenly surged forward.
Her eyes widened in shock, and she quickly accelerated!
’Is he crazy?!’
’Is he trying to ram me?’
Chloe Reed’s expression was tense, her hands gripping the steering wheel tightly.
Owen Sterling watched this unfold, astonished. "Do you know the person behind us?"
Chloe Reed replied, "A madman."
Owen Sterling scrambled for the grab handle, his expression turning serious. "W-we’re going to be okay, right?"
Chloe Reed glanced at him, amused by his reaction. A small smile played on her lips as she said, "Relax. We’re not going to die."
Owen Sterling: "..."
’That’s terrifying.’
The car behind was still in hot pursuit, and Chloe Reed didn’t slow down. What would have normally been a longer drive to Owen Sterling’s house took less than ten minutes.
When the car stopped, Owen Sterling got out without a single word and scurried home.
Chloe Reed got out as well, striding toward the car that had stopped a short distance behind her.
She pounded on the car window.
After a long moment, the car door opened, and a tall, lean figure of a man emerged.
Chloe Reed raised her hand to slap him.
But he caught her wrist, his grip like a vise. She could feel the warmth from his hand, but her expression was furious.
’He had to shut her up.’
"Mmph!"
Chloe Reed immediately began to struggle. ’She didn’t want this! She wouldn’t let him get close!’
But he held her fast, leaving her no room to escape, forcing her to endure the kiss.
As their lips tangled, the coppery taste of blood spread through their mouths.
Walker Grant still didn’t pull back. Instead, he kissed her even more fiercely.
Their breaths tangled violently, the air plundered from her lungs.
Chloe Reed was almost suffocating.
Only then did Walker Grant finally release her. "I don’t agree," he said, his voice hoarse. "You’re my wife. You can’t go out to eat or hang out with other men."
Chloe Reed’s breath came in ragged gasps, her soft chest heaving. She glared at him, her brow furrowed at his domineering attitude.
