He had to resort to tricks just to see his own wife.
It was utterly ridiculous.
Chloe Reed nodded. "Fine."
Walker Grant’s gaze was dark as he watched her, his thin lips pressed into a straight line.
Chloe Reed frowned slightly. "I’ve already agreed. Is there something else?"
"You’re lying to me again." Walker Grant suddenly stood and walked toward her. "Are you planning to block me again as soon as I leave?"
Chloe Reed’s expression froze. That was exactly what she was planning to do.
’I can’t believe he saw right through me.’
Seeing her silence, Walker Grant’s lips curved, but there was no hint of a smile in his eyes. "Chloe, you’ve disappointed me greatly."
"Enough, Walker Grant! Is there any point in dragging this on?" Chloe Reed’s patience had run out. Her gaze was cold and mocking. "What’s with this act, pretending I’m the one who hurt you? Weren’t you the one who hurt me first? You’re upset by what I’m doing now? Do you have any idea how I felt before?"
Walker Grant watched her sharp accusations, his expression impassive for a moment before he spoke. "I’m doing what you asked."
"My request? Ha... You make it sound like I’m forcing you. This is ridiculous. I’m not forcing you, and you don’t have to be forced to do those things. It’s meaningless now."
’Chloe Reed found it utterly ridiculous. As a husband, he couldn’t remain completely faithful. He was full of lies, and now he had the audacity to claim he was just doing as she asked?’
’He didn’t even know how to be a husband!’
’It was all a mistake from the very beginning!’
Chloe Reed pointed at the door. "Get out. I don’t want to see you right now."
Walker Grant’s eyes darkened. "No matter what I do, you’re never satisfied, are you?"
"That’s right!"
Chloe Reed lifted her chin, looking him straight in the eye.
