Chapter 279: Chapter 279: Being Set Up

Dylan Finch quickly gathered all the information on Owen Sterling.

He immediately called Walker Grant. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"Mr. Grant, something’s off with this Owen Sterling. He’s been hired by several companies, but he always resigns in less than three months. My investigation shows that Madam Grant’s people have been targeting him, forcing him to jump from job to job. They then contacted him in private. Recently, three million was suddenly transferred into his account. He’s spent the last few days in bars, and tonight, he met with your wife."

Upon hearing this, Walker Grant’s expression instantly darkened. "Where are they now?"

"The Traveler’s Feast," Dylan Finch replied.

Walker Grant shot to his feet and headed straight for the door.

"Uncle, where are you going?" Noah Grant asked. He was sitting by the hospital bed.

Walker Grant said softly, "I have something urgent to take care of. You stay here and be good."

But Noah Grant looked at him with pleading eyes. "Uncle, I’ll be scared if you leave. Please don’t go, okay?"

Walker Grant replied, "The bodyguards are right outside, and Grandma will be back soon. You’re a big boy. You have to be brave. Be good."

He patted Noah Grant’s head, then turned and strode away.

Noah Grant sat by the bed. He turned to look at Sunny Reed, who was still unconscious, then curled up and lay down beside her.

"Mommy..."

...

The two of them clinked glasses and drank.

Chloe Reed started coughing as if she had choked. She quickly grabbed a few tissues and covered her mouth.

"Sorry about that. I’m not much of a drinker," she said embarrassedly, her face slightly flushed from coughing.

Owen Sterling shook his head. "It’s fine. I’m actually really happy that you’re still willing to help me after everything I’ve been through."
