The old house was a small outbuilding deep in the garden of the Reed Villa, a place used for storing junk.

But ever since she turned ten, it had become her solitary confinement.

Because the year she turned ten, her parents brought Sunny Reed home.

Sunny Reed was two years older than her. Her mother said to her, "Chloe, haven’t you always wanted a sister? How would you like to have Sunny as your big sister from now on?"

She had always envied others who had sisters, and now she had one too.

But a few days later, Sunny Reed was on the swings. When she went over, wanting to play too, Sunny suddenly fell off.

Her father happened to be passing by, and Sunny Reed immediately started crying. "My sister didn’t mean to... I’m not hurt..."

Her father immediately scolded her.

But she was innocent! She hadn’t pushed Sunny Reed!

Then, a few days after that, she and Sunny Reed were walking down the stairs, with Sunny in front and her behind.

Suddenly, Sunny Reed tumbled down the stairs.

She just stood on the stairs, dumbfounded.

Sunny Reed looked up at her, crying. "Sister, why did you push me? It hurts so much... Waaah..."

And so, she was locked in the dark room.

Her father and mother came in turns to punish her.

It was the first time her father had ever hit her.

She had been so wronged!
