When Judith Pierce learned that Walker had been in an accident, she nearly fainted.
She had already experienced the pain of losing a son once. When the plane Julian Grant was on crashed, she was in so much agony she could barely breathe.
For a long time after, she was unable to move on from that heart-wrenching grief.
She later became a doctor for an international aid organization. After witnessing so much life and death, she gradually began to overcome her suffering.
But when she learned about Walker’s accident, that unbearable, soul-crushing agony enveloped her once more.
He was the only son she had left.
’Absolutely nothing can happen to him!’
She rushed to the hospital. On the way, she only had time to question the bodyguard, from whom she learned that the incident happened while Walker was with Chloe Reed.
When she saw Dylan Finch, she tried to get a clear explanation, but he only said Walker was fine and refused to tell her what had happened.
Judith Pierce was overcome with worry. Now, seeing Chloe Reed, she was desperate to know what had happened.
Chloe Reed’s hand ached from the heavy force of Judith’s grip.
She pursed her lips lightly and lowered her gaze, a complex emotion flashing in her eyes.
"Mom, what happened was..."
"Madam, you’re here."
But just then, Dylan Finch hurried over, cutting her off. "Would you like to go in and see him?"
Chloe Reed looked at him, her eyes filled with suspicion.
’Why isn’t he letting me speak?’
Dylan Finch said, "Ma’am, please go in and see him. Mr. Grant is out of danger."
But Judith Pierce cut in, "You’re not going anywhere! I still don’t know what happened!"
