"How could two living people not leave any trace behind?" Chloe Reed’s expression grew pensive. "Either they live abroad, or their tracks have been deliberately erased."
’But why would anyone erase Sunny Reed’s parents’ tracks?’
’What did they do for a living?’
’How did they die?’
’Were Charles Reed and his wife involved?’
’And why did Charles Reed and his wife dote on Sunny so much?’
Chloe Reed was incredibly curious.
She looked at Daniel Hayes and said, "Find any clues you can about Sunny Reed’s parents. I just want to know what exactly happened between them and Charles Reed and his wife."
Daniel Hayes nodded. "Understood."
He drank another bowl of water before getting up to leave.
Chloe Reed, however, didn’t leave. She sat in the teahouse, drinking the entire pot of tea, her mind a chaotic mess.
One moment, she was thinking about Sunny Reed’s parents; the next, about what Daniel Hayes had said regarding Miles Hawthorne.
She pressed her temples.
’The attack on me... was Miles Hawthorne involved?’
’But how is that possible?’
’Miles is still helping me.’
’If it weren’t for Miles, Walker Grant would still be using my grandma’s surgery to threaten me into not divorcing him.’
’How could Miles possibly want to kill me?’
’So, that theory probably doesn’t hold up.’
’It was probably just a coincidence.’
’People from overseas...’
She had no idea her own identity could have attracted the attention of people from overseas.
Now she was starting to wonder what kind of identity she even had.
As evening fell, she left the teahouse.
