Dylan Finch’s tone was distant. "Madam."
Chloe Reed’s voice was steady as she asked, "Where is Walker Grant? Is he messing with me again?"
Dylan Finch said, "Mr. Grant was delayed by something. Please wait a little longer. Since Mr. Grant made you a promise, he will definitely keep it."
"Heh..." Chloe Reed scoffed lightly. "I hope he can this time."
With that, she hung up the phone.
Sitting in her car, her fingers landed on the steering wheel, tapping gently, again and again.
At first, she was agitated, feeling like he was playing her. He was always like this, completely disregarding her feelings.
But now that she had calmed down, she recalled his cold, resolute eyes from that night.
’He really isn’t going to pester me anymore.’
’So, he probably won’t break his promise this time.’
’Might as well wait, then.’
She opened her phone and found Iris Yates online to play a game. Gaming was a good way to kill time quickly.
They started a voice chat, and Iris Yates asked, "Chloe, how have you been lately?"
Chloe Reed could hear the dejection in her voice and asked, "What’s wrong? Did something happen?"
Iris Yates sighed. "My family is pushing me to go on blind dates! Help me! I’m so young and beautiful, and I’m already being set up on blind dates!"
Chloe Reed couldn’t help but laugh before saying, "Actually, blind dates aren’t so bad. With no emotional foundation, just a bond of mutual interest, both people can live freely."
But that wasn’t what Iris Yates thought. She said, "But I want to find someone who loves me, someone who can protect me."
Chloe Reed replied, "Then take it slow. Fate just hasn’t brought him to you yet."
"Sigh... I have another blind date tomorrow. Girl, if you’re free, will you come with me?" Iris Yates pleaded softly. "Please, please come with me. I’ve met so many weirdos lately, my eyes are about to go blind!"
