Charles Reed’s expression was grim.

Charles Reed snapped before turning and going back into the hospital room.

Diana Sutton stared intently at the newcomer. "Susan Bowman," she said. "After all these years, you’re still alive."

Susan Bowman took two steps forward. "Diana Sutton, what are you doing here?"

"I should be the one asking you that! Why are you here? What right do you have to be here?" Her grandmother’s entire demeanor changed, becoming aggressive. Her gaze was sharp as she stared daggers at the approaching woman.
