Chloe Reed: "..."
She looked away and walked into the living room, then asked, "Is there anything I need to prepare?"
"No, you just need to come with me," Walker Grant said calmly.
"Okay."
Chloe Reed’s heart tightened.
Once she met this person, she would finally know who wanted to kill her. The mystery that had been shrouding her all this time would be solved.
She grew inexplicably nervous.
"..."
Having applied his medicine and taken his pills on schedule for the past few days, Walker Grant’s wounds healed rapidly. The appointed time soon arrived.
Chloe Reed first video-called her grandmother. After confirming the old woman’s condition was relatively stable, she was finally able to relax.
When she left her room, she saw Walker Grant dressed in a simple white shirt and trousers. He had the top two buttons of his collar undone, giving him a casual, untamed air.
"Are we leaving now?"
Chloe Reed was so nervous her palms were sweating.
"Yes."
Walker Grant nodded, walked over, glanced at her, and then took her hand. "Don’t be afraid."
Chloe Reed’s eyelashes fluttered. She pulled her hand away and said, "I’m not afraid. I’m just a little nervous about finally finding out who’s behind all this."
His palm was left empty. Her attitude remained cold and distant.
Walker Grant simply shoved his hand into his pants pocket and said coolly, "In this kind of situation, you might need to play along with me."
Chloe Reed looked up at him, puzzled. "How do I play along?"
