Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce novel Chapter 444

Chapter 444: Chapter 444: Repeated Probing

Miles Hawthorne was surprised. "He agreed to a divorce? Have you finalized it yet?"

Chloe Reed sighed. "He’s on a business trip. We’ll handle it when he gets back."

There was silence on the other end for a few seconds. After a moment, Miles Hawthorne’s voice came through again. "Okay, let’s meet. We can talk more in person."

"Mm."

Chloe Reed hung up.

When she turned her head, she was met with the teasing look in Walker Grant’s eyes.

She said in a level voice, "I’m going to meet him. Do you want to come with me?"

Walker Grant chuckled. "Aren’t I on a business trip?"

Chloe Reed was speechless.

Her brow furrowed. "I’m not joking."

Walker Grant said, "I’m on a business trip, so I can’t go with you. What’s the problem?"

Chloe Reed was at a loss for words.

She left the Grant Family Estate right then and there.

Daniel Hayes brought the car around and drove her straight to a teahouse. She sent the location to Miles Hawthorne, and half an hour later, he pushed open the door to the private room.

Seeing her haggard expression, concern flickered in his eyes. He asked, "How’s your grandmother doing?"

Chloe Reed’s voice was heavy with grief. "She’s still in a coma. The doctors don’t know when she’ll wake up. They won’t give me the antidote until I find Sunny Reed. Where am I supposed to find her?"

Resentment flared in her eyes. "Sunny Reed is their adopted daughter. And even though I’m not their biological child either, they raised me like their own for so many years. How could they do this to me?"

Miles Hawthorne sighed. "They’re... they’re really not thinking straight. They’re getting old. How could they not have considered the consequences?"

Chloe Reed sniffled and looked at him. "What should I do? Do you have any ideas?"

"Thanks, but I can’t bring myself to be happy right now." Chloe Reed’s face was etched with sorrow and worry. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
