Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce novel Chapter 45

Chapter 45: Chapter 45: You Want a Child?

Her vision was a blur. A warm touch swept across the corner of her eye, wiping away a tear.

A sensual aroma filled the hospital room, where ragged breaths intertwined.

Walker Grant picked her up and placed her on the hospital bed. He then turned and went into the bathroom, returning with a wet towel in his hand.

He took hold of her leg.

"Can you stop going after Iris now?" Chloe Reed asked, her voice hoarse.

Walker Grant’s expression faltered. He jerked his head up to look at her, his dark, deep eyes churning with emotion. He gritted his teeth. "You’ve already paid such a high price. How could I not let them go now?"

Chloe Reed closed her eyes. Sweat beaded on her temples, the corners of her eyes were bright red, and her breathing was still ragged.

The passionate exertion brought a peachy flush to her face, lending her an alluring vitality.

Walker Grant cleaned her up, then got into bed and pulled her into his arms.

Just as he had on so many nights before, he held her afterward, embracing her as if trying to merge her into his very flesh and bone.

Chloe Reed, however, said, "What’s the point? It’s not like I can get pregnant."

Walker Grant’s arms tightened around her. "You want a child?"

Chloe Reed suppressed the turmoil inside her and ignored him.

She was mocking him, but he pretended not to notice.

She just felt weary, a deep exhaustion accompanied by a sharp, piercing pain, as if her heart was being stabbed by a thousand needles.

After regaining a bit of strength, she shoved him away and got out of bed to leave.

Walker Grant frowned. "Where are you going?"

Chloe Reed straightened her clothes, her expression once again cold and indifferent. "Business is concluded. Why would I stay here? I wouldn’t want to get in the way of you and Sunny Reed building your relationship."

"Chloe!"
