Chapter 467: Chapter 467: Her Clothes Are All Gone

But when she came out of the shower, she found only a single nightgown in the closet. All of her other clothes were gone! 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Chloe Reed stood in the massive walk-in closet, staring at the empty shelves. She was horrified.

She put on the nightgown and went to find Walker Grant, only to see him in the kitchen cooking noodles. His tall, slender frame was wrapped in an apron, and amidst the hazy steam, he looked all the more handsome and alluring.

He turned his head to look at her and said softly, "It’ll be ready soon."

Chloe frowned at him. "Where are my clothes?"

"What clothes?"

Walker poured the noodles into a bowl and carried it to the dining table, a look of confusion on his handsome face.

Chloe was speechless. "...The clothes in the walk-in closet—they’re all gone!"

Walker still looked baffled. "I have no idea. I just got back myself. Maybe mice stole them."

Chloe was speechless.

She gritted her teeth. "How can you be so shameless?!"

But Walker took her by the shoulders, steered her toward the dining table, and gently pressed her into a chair. "Do you really have the energy to fight with me right now? Eat up, then we can argue."

Chloe was speechless.

She hadn’t been hungry. After rushing around all day and then learning that her grandmother’s health was affected by a toxin, she had completely lost her appetite.

But as the aroma of the noodles wafted over, her stomach betrayed her with a few growls.

She picked up her chopsticks and began to eat in silence.

The noodles were delicious. He had always been an excellent cook.

Chloe kept her eyes downcast, her long lashes trembling faintly as an uncontrollable tremor went through her heart.

Her eyes were filled with wariness.

Walker said, "Sleeping."

Chloe looked at him skeptically. "Just sleeping?"

Walker opened his eyes to look at her, a smirk playing on his lips. "If you had something else in mind, I’d be happy to oblige."

The moment he finished speaking, Chloe immediately lay down with her back to him, leaving a huge gap between them—so wide, you could have fit another two people in the space.

Walker glanced at the vast empty space, his brow furrowing in displeasure.

Then, he simply rolled onto his side, closing the distance and wrapping an arm around her waist.

Chloe’s body went rigid at once, and her breath caught in her throat.

Walker closed his eyes, his voice deep and slow. "Just rest. Get a good night’s sleep. We’ll go to the hospital tomorrow."
