"And you will pay the price for everything you’ve done."
Chloe Reed’s tone grew increasingly cold. With that, she hung up the phone.
"Hello? Hello!"
Hearing the BEEP-BEEP-BEEP of the dial tone, Charles Reed’s face turned ashen with rage. Chloe Reed’s finality had sparked a deep sense of panic within him.
His secretary was already calling him. The Grant Group had started targeting the Reed Group again.
And this time, Grant Corporation’s methods were ruthless and merciless. Walker Grant wasn’t even taking Charles Reed’s calls.
Not only that, but another unknown company had started targeting the Reed Group, joining forces with Grant Corporation to corner them.
The Reed Group was now under attack from all sides.
One call after another came in with news of canceled contracts, disrupted funding chains, and banks refusing loans...
Charles Reed was at his wit’s end. Sitting in his vast office, he suddenly realized he might have been wrong from the very beginning.
Another call came in. He was about to decline it but saw it was a number from the hospital.
"Hello, what is it?"
Charles Reed pressed a hand to his temple, his voice weary as he asked.
"Our hospital is short on beds. Your wife’s condition isn’t that serious. You should take her home to recuperate."
The hospital staff, cold and unsympathetic, basically kicked Autumn Linton out.
"This is outrageous!"
Charles Reed furiously slammed his hand on the table, then got up and went to the hospital to pick up Autumn Linton.
