Nathaniel Monroe was completely thrown. "Wait, why? If she didn’t do it, why would she confess?"
Walker’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and he remained silent for a long moment.
Nathaniel Monroe was completely baffled. He scratched his head, unable to understand why Chloe Reed would do such a thing.
She had nothing to gain from it.
She would be vilified, cast out by the Grant family, and condemned by the Reed family...
Nathaniel didn’t even dare to imagine what her life would be like from now on.
"So, we have to find evidence to prove she didn’t do it," Walker said, his voice low and raspy.
"Yes, we have to find evidence." Nathaniel nodded emphatically. "Walker, I’m with you."
"Okay."

「The Hospital」
By the time Madam Grant arrived, Noah Grant was already out of the emergency room.
Autumn Linton said, "Thank goodness Noah was caught. He wasn’t seriously hurt, just a minor concussion. He’ll be fine after a few days of rest."
Madam Grant’s heart ached for him. She held Noah’s hand tightly, saying, "Oh, my poor great-grandson. To have to suffer like this at your own birthday party."
She looked at Autumn Linton, her tone turning cold. "Chloe Reed has already confessed. I’m making her and Walker divorce, and Charles has already agreed."
Autumn Linton’s face was filled with disbelief. "That... how is that possible?"
"Hmph. What’s so impossible about it?" Madam Grant scoffed. "She admitted it herself. How could that be a lie?"
Autumn Linton was flustered and bewildered. In her memory, her daughter, though spoiled, would never do something so wicked.
Autumn Linton composed herself and said, "I have no objection to Walker and Chloe getting a divorce, but he can’t get together with Sunny. Chloe wouldn’t be able to bear it."
"Hmph, she brought this all on herself!" Charles Reed scoffed. "If she hadn’t been making a scene and demanding a divorce, why would I even be thinking this way?"
He looked at Autumn Linton with a complicated expression and said, "In the end, our family owes Sunny. We have to do everything in our power to be good to her."
Autumn Linton’s lips trembled, but in the end, she said nothing.
Outside the stairwell.
A figure turned and walked away, a triumphant smile on their lips.
Late that night, the door to the hospital room was pushed open again, and Walker Grant walked in, bringing a chill with him.
Sunny Reed was asleep, slumped over the side of the hospital bed. Madam Grant had already gone home, and the room was silent.
The little boy in the bed, however, opened his eyes. When he saw it was him, his little lip quivered as if he were about to cry.
