"Then you definitely can’t be left alive."
The large hand on her neck tightened, but the gun pressed to her temple remained still.
Chloe Reed’s long lashes trembled as she asked, "You could have killed me instantly. Why didn’t you? What do you want?"
The man chuckled again. "I’d love to. Do you have any idea how much you’re worth? If I kill you, I get a hundred million dollars!"
Chloe Reed shuddered. ’So that’s why so many people have been trying to kill me, one after another.’
’I really am worth a lot of money.’
"But the Young Miss has given her orders," the man said, his hand loosening its grip on her neck. "She says killing you outright would be no fun. She wants to watch an interesting game."
But the gun pressed to her temple didn’t move.
Then, he whistled.
Hearing the whistle, everyone tensed up, scanning their surroundings.
A moment later, two people in camouflage pushed a woman forward.
The woman wore loose clothing, and her hair was a mess. She looked haggard and distressed.
Chloe Reed’s pupils constricted the moment she got a clear look at the woman’s face.
’It’s her!’
"Walker, save me!"
The woman was none other than Sunny Reed.
She spotted Walker Grant immediately and cried out for help. Her face was pale and she was terribly thin. It was impossible to know what she’d been through during her disappearance, but her eyes were hollow and vacant.
"Walker, I saved you all those years ago! Save me now, and I swear I’ll never appear before either of you again! Please, save me..." Sunny Reed was terrified, her gaze fixed pleadingly on Walker Grant as she begged for her life.
But Walker Grant didn’t spare her a single glance, his eyes fixed only on Chloe Reed.
"What are you going to do?"
Seeing this, Chloe Reed asked the question, a faint sense of dread creeping into her heart.
