Chapter 65: Chapter 65: It’s Chloe Reed’s Fault

Autumn Linton tapped on the tablet, playing a video. On it, all the children said they never saw Chloe Reed kick him—that Noah Grant had missed his footing and fallen.

Noah Grant sat in Walker Grant’s arms. His cherubic face, usually so perfect, was tinged with fear. He instinctively grabbed Walker Grant’s clothes, his big eyes darting around the room before he spoke. "I don’t know..."

Walker Grant’s handsome brows knitted together. "You really don’t know?"

Tears rolled down Noah Grant’s cheeks. "I... I don’t know..."

Sunny Reed stepped forward. "Walker, he’s just a child. He must be terrified after falling from such a height. Don’t push him like this." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

With that, she lifted Noah Grant from Walker’s arms. Glancing at the tablet, she said, "Since there’s proof my sister didn’t do it, then of course she didn’t. I was too frantic last night and jumped to the wrong conclusion. I owe her an apology."

She bowed to Chloe Reed. "Sister, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have blamed you."

"Uncle..."

Noah Grant tried to squirm out of Sunny Reed’s arms, reaching his hands out toward Walker Grant.

But Sunny Reed said, "Noah, be a good boy. Don’t bother your uncle. We need to see less of him from now on, you know?"

Noah Grant’s tears fell even faster. "WAAAH... No! Uncle! I want my uncle!"

Sunny Reed feigned a light smack. "Why are you being so disobedient? It’s because of you that your uncle and aunt are getting a divorce! We can’t bother them anymore. From now on, Mommy will be with you."

Noah Grant cried even harder.

Autumn Linton’s heart ached hearing this. She came forward and said, "Sunny, don’t hit the child. He’s still so weak. Come here, come to Grandma."

She took Noah Grant into her arms, cooing softly to him.
