Chapter 676: Chapter 676: I Won’t Leave You

Chloe Reed was still holding a soup bowl. Seeing Walker’s expression, her heart felt as if it were being squeezed by an invisible hand.

The suffocating feeling left her breathless.

She set the soup bowl aside and picked up her phone to type. A cold, electronic female voice soon rang out, "Don’t worry. I won’t leave you. I won’t leave you until your eyes are better."

She knew what Walker was worried about, too.

Judith Pierce was back. She would definitely want to have a talk with her—or even try everything in her power to drive her away.

But as things stood, she really couldn’t leave now.

Walker’s eyes were like this because of her. If she just up and left, how would that make her any different from a beast?

"Drink your medicine."

After typing that, she put her phone down.

She picked up the medicine bowl again and placed it in his palm.

Walker pursed his lips slightly. Without another word, he downed the medicine in one gulp.

Chloe took a nearby tissue and wiped the medicinal liquid from the corner of his mouth. Then, she took the bowl and went outside.

Fiona Linton was chatting with a nurse, but her ears were pricked, listening for any sounds from the hospital room. When she heard the door open and turned to see Chloe Reed walk out, she asked in surprise, "That was fast?"

Chloe blinked in confusion.

Fiona Linton couldn’t help but laugh. "Back in my village," she said, "when some of the old men don’t want to take their medicine, their wives have to coax them like they’re little kids. A few sweet words, and the men are happy again and drink it right down."

She leaned in close to Chloe and said with a grin, "Were you just coaxing him in there? But he doesn’t look like someone who’s afraid of taking medicine."

Chloe Reed: "..."

Er...

’She hadn’t expected Fiona Linton to read so much into it.’

’But when she thought about it, what she’d just done really wasn’t any different from coaxing someone.’

’Walker had desperately wanted a definitive answer. Once she gave it to him, he was reassured.’
