Chapter 692: Chapter 692: The Inevitable Will Come

The instant noodles were cooked and placed in front of Iris Yates.

It was a simple bowl, with a fried egg, ham, and greens.

The chef’s control over the heat was just right; the dish was perfect in color, aroma, and taste.

Iris Yates stared blankly as the sight before her started to blur. She sniffled. She didn’t break down and wail; instead, she picked up her chopsticks and began to eat in small bites.

Only, tears would fall into the bowl from time to time.

William Quinn watched the scene, feeling as if an invisible hand had clenched around his heart. The sudden pain made him freeze.

She was so sad. She didn’t break down, just shed tears in silence.

A sudden rage welled up in William Quinn.

He spun around and stormed out of the dining room, moving like the wind. As he left, a dark, violent aura emanated from him.

The crew members and attendants who passed him didn’t dare to look up.

Iris Yates, however, paid no attention to any of that.

After she finished the noodles, the void in her heart seemed to have been filled, just a tiny bit.

She didn’t even leave a single drop of broth.

She grabbed a tissue to wipe her tears, then blew her nose and let out a sigh.

「Night fell.」

The moment she wanted to face least was about to arrive.

The room was large, and the round bed was spread with exceptionally fine, soft, and comfortable sheets.

After a shower, Iris Yates sat at the head of the bed, hugging her knees. Her small face was tense, radiating an extraordinary nervousness and resistance.

When the door opened, she squeezed her eyes shut. ’What’s coming will come.’

She lifted her gaze and saw William Quinn in a white shirt. The collar was slightly open, and for some reason, the hem was stained with blood.

A hint of a smile touched his handsome, refined face, his blue eyes as deep as the ocean.
