Chapter 717: Chapter 717: Everyone Is Competing With Him

Chloe Reed: "..."

’Did some evil spirit possess him or something?’

’How else could he have changed so much?’

Chloe Reed took a deep breath before typing on her phone. A cold, electronic female voice rang out, "I just meant that if you want to do something, you should ask someone for help. You can’t manage on your own. What if you get hurt again?"

Walker Grant took a step forward. "You’re worried about me getting hurt?"

Chloe Reed thought he was focusing on the wrong thing.

She started to type again, but his hand shot out and grabbed hers, stopping her.

He moved closer. "So, I’m still in your heart after all."

Chloe Reed: "..."

’He really has lost his mind.’

Walker Grant’s fingers caressed her hand. Her breathing was so close, and his Adam’s apple bobbed.

They were in the familiar master bedroom, a place where they had lived together for four years. Every corner was steeped in the traces and scent of their love.

Walker Grant’s breathing grew heavier.

"KNOCK KNOCK!"

Just as the atmosphere was growing intimate, a sudden knock echoed from the door.

"Who is it?"

Walker Grant turned his head slightly, his voice dropping low.

Fiona Linton’s cheerful voice came through. "It’s me, it’s me! It’s time for acupuncture. Is now a good time?"

There was a hint of gloating in the young woman’s tone; she had clearly chosen this exact moment to knock on purpose.

A vein throbbed on Walker Grant’s temple. He could feel Fiona Linton’s disdain for him.

If it weren’t for Chloe Reed, she probably wouldn’t be treating him at all.

"Toad."

Chloe Reed felt a little awkward. She forced herself to look calm and opened the door to let her in.

Fiona Linton looked around. "This room is huge! Hey, wasn’t there a picture hanging here before?"

She pointed toward the head of the bed, where the blank space now looked glaringly empty.

Previously, when Chloe Reed had agreed to stay here, she had made one demand: he was not allowed to hang up their wedding photo.

Walker Grant’s expression turned cold, and he ignored her.

But Fiona Linton deliberately sidled up to him. "Let me guess, was it a wedding photo? Why’d you take it down? Did you fall out of love?"

Walker Grant’s tone grew chilling. "You’re really noisy."

"Oh? Did I hit a sore spot? Hmph. I think I’m starting to understand why you two ended up divorced. Walker Grant, I really misjudged you. I never thought you’d be in love with your sister-in-law."

The look in Fiona Linton’s eyes grew cold. "If it wasn’t for Chloe’s sake, I wouldn’t be treating you at all!"
