Claire Monroe was clearly in a bad mood. It seemed she had recalled something from the past, and her expression soured even further.
Chloe Reed walked over and waved at her as a greeting.
Seeing her arrive, Claire’s expression softened a bit. "Chloe, how’s your throat doing?"
Chloe pursed her lips, then spoke clearly, one word at a time, "Much. Bet. Ter."
Her voice was still hoarse and unpleasant to the ear, but at the very least, she could articulate words clearly now.
Walker Grant immediately turned to face her. Even though his eyes were covered, his joy was unmistakable.
Claire curled her lips into a smile. "Looks like you’re recovering well. I came here this time to ask if he has any news on that brat, Nathaniel Monroe. He’s such a headache. He went abroad all by himself without saying a single word. It’s so infuriating."
Chloe typed on her phone, and a cold, robotic female voice sounded. "He’ll be fine, Claire. Don’t worry too much."
Those were just words of comfort. In reality, none of them had any idea what the actual situation was.
Especially considering William Quinn’s character—if Nathaniel really found him but ended up getting caught instead, the consequences would be disastrous. By recklessly going over there, Nathaniel was practically provoking William. William was a lunatic to begin with. Who knew what he was capable of?
Claire furrowed her brows. "I’m not that worried. It’s about time he learned a lesson anyway. My parents protected him too well, leaving him so naive."
Chloe smiled but didn’t say anything.
Claire looked at Walker and asked, "You really don’t have any news of him?"
"Why would I lie to you?" Walker replied.
"Sigh... fine. If you hear anything about him, let me know." Claire stood up, then smiled at Chloe. "Chloe, I’ve got to go. I have things to do."
Chloe stood up. "I’ll. Walk. You."
