Chapter 134 Everfrost
Everfrost was nothing like the light long-range mechas commonly seen in the military.
Its body was covered in layered silver-white armor modeled after ancient crocodile scales. Along its ba rose jagged ice-crystal cooling fins like the spine of some glacial beast.
The conical armor-piercing spike fitted into the end of its long tail was clearly built for close combat.
But all of that was only Orion’s reconstruction based on his knowledge of mechas.
The Everfrost standing there now looked half dead.
Arms, legs, and body all had broken circuits everywhere. Even the weapon-connection area had wires exposed.
Exposed would have been bad enough.
Several lines were snapped, and in some places, the missing middle sections were simply gone.
The fact that this machine had made it back at all involved a great deal of luck.
‘A standard mecha?” Leon looked miserable as he spoke to Kira. “Leaving aside whether a standard mec can survive our regiment’s combat pressure, our commander doesn’t have time to wait for one to be issued.”
Their commander still had to return to the front and direct the battle.
At a time like this, time was more precious than gold.
‘Leon.”
Adrian gripped Leon’s shoulder and pulled him back.
His expression remained steady as he looked at Kira.
“If this zone can’t do it, what if I try the other repair zones?”
Kira and Jules exchanged a glance.
Soon, both shook their heads.
“Forgive me for being direct,” Kia said, “but given your regiments fighting style, most imperial makers struggle to handle your mecha repairs.
Perhaps seeing Adrian’s doubt, Jules added. “Our hitle boss is a military academy student yes. But Kira Julian, and I have followed Dr R for a long time We are not weaker than the other master disciples in this repair bay”
Adrian pressed his lips together
He did not question Kira and the others openly, but he still sent someone to invite the disciples from the

other four teams to take a look.
Blair’s team and another team arrived first.
They exchanged a few words after a quick inspection and shook their heads directly.
They could not take it.
Yorland’s group and Master Martin’s disciples came later and stayed a bit longer before giving Adri:
answer.
“It can be repaired, but not quickly. In the time it would take to fix this one, we could repair dozens other mechas.”
That answer sounded more respectable than Blair’s silent refusal, but it still meant no.
If they used all that time on Everfrost, what about the line of people waiting behind him?
Impossible.
“What now? Taking a standard mecha onto our defense line is basically gambling with your life.”
Leon gritted his teeth.
But he also understood this was how wartime worked.
Their regiment had been pushed to the back of the line/more than once.
Their combat style was too unusual, and the repair divisions of the Fourth and Fifth Legions truly wer not good at supporting it.
