Outcast Omega Pampered by the Alpha General novel Chapter 138

Chapter 138 The Frost Crescent Glaive

“Damn it. It’s been over a hundred years, and these bugs still aren’t dead. What does that queen of theirs eat to breed this many?”

“Stay sharp. The commander and Leon aren’t here. Our line has heavy firepower, but we still can’t let anything break through.”

“It’s fine. Leon just said in the channel that he and the commander are already on their way back.”

“Already? That fast?”

At the front of the insectoid tide, spirit forms threw themselves forward under their owners’ control, tearing into the endless swarm.

A giant bull drove its horns into an insectoid’s abdomen.

Pearblossom ripped open chitin with huge claws.

Around them were a Pallas cat, apes, elk, black tigers, lions…

Every spirit form roared and fought without retreating, even when black smoke began rising from its body.

Not far behind them, their owners’ mechas kept firing, blocking the sneaky insectoids trying to use the chaos to ambush from the sides.

‘Owen, don’t push too far. This wave is easing up. Use the break and recover while you can.”

Deputy commander Gavin Locke’s voice came through the team channel.

‘Relax, Gavin. I know my own limits.”

Owen Lowell was one of the regiment’s core fighters. He knew exactly how far his body could go.

His mecha drew a short blade and chopped off the forelimb of a flying locust rushing him.

“Roar!”

The giant locust shrieked and was about to strike again when a spirit foun arrived from behind and pierced straight through it.

But Gavin, who had been watching the front, suddenly took in a sharp breath.

“Something’s wrong. Have you noticed a lot of the bugs coming in are larger than usual?”

“Are they?”

“Now that you mention it, yeah. The one I just killed was bigger too…”

Before that soldier could finish, Gavin, Owen, and every fighter in that sector felt their hearts tighten

Chapter 138 The Frost Crescent Glaive

There was no sound in deep space.

But energy waves could still tremble through it.

This vibration came from giant mantis insectoids and flying locusts beating their wing membranes together.

Whenever that tremor appeared, it meant the insectoids’ next charge was beginning.

And this time, the new tide was probably made of mutated mantis insectoids and flying locust variant:

‘Attention, all combat personnel. Contract the line and defend! Repeat, all combat personnel, contract line and defend!”

In the Fourth and Fifth Legions’ command channel, the frontline commander was almost shouting himself hoarse.

But insectoids could fly and strike through space using only their bodies.

Their attack speed was terrifying.

The frontmost teams received the order, but they no longer had time to withdraw.

More importantly, they could not withdraw.

Not before the defense line finished contracting.

Fuck it. I’m taking these dead bugs with me!”

Owen spat out a curse.

The other soldiers in the regiment lit up their mecha weapons at the same time and threw themselves in

he new mutated swarm.

Unfortunately, they had barely rested.

This new wave of mutated insectoids was faster, stronger, and larger than the previous one

Before long, some spirit forms could no longer held on and had to retreat for recovery.

‘Owen, fall back! Your spirit form can’t take any more!”

Gavin roared into the channel.

But Owen did not argue

Instead, he screained, “Gavin, turn around! Fucking turn around!”

Gavin froze.

His mecha turned with the warning.

A huge mantis-shaped insectoid entered his view.

Chapter 138 The Frost Crescent Glaive

A ghost-blue demonflower bloomed from its back, and its forelimbs were as sharp as scythes.

Demonflower Mantis.

Direct guard of the Demonflower Blood Mantis

An insectoid commander.

Every one of them was at least S-class, terrifyingly fast, and capable of splitting mecha armor open wit twin scythes.

“Move!”

Owen was still yelling.

But Gavin could no longer hear anything.

His blood was roaring too loudly, pounding like a war drum.

Am I going to die here?

The Demonflower Mantis locked onto him.

Its scythe lifted.

Owen and the others went crazy trying to save him.

But it was too late.

Too late.

No one expected what happened next.

At the critical instant, a deep-blue crescent glaive slashed across space like an icy rainbow.

The blade arrived in a blink.

Just as the Demonflower Mantis was about to chop into the weak point of Gavin’s mecha and hook the human inside out to devour him, the glaive struck its body.
