Chapter 181 The Hidden Buzz

The Omegas only felt a sharp gust tear over their heads.

A second later came the insectoids’ pained buzzing, followed by the dull thunk of a sharp weapon punchin into the wall.

“All good.”

At those words, the Omegas lifted their heads at once.

Their eyes followed the path of the wind.

Then those jewel-bright eyes widened one pair after another.

What were they seeing?

Two insectoids had been stacked together and pinned to the auditorium wall by a dagger.

Pale-gold patterns bloomed along the blade. Blue smoke rose from both trapped insectoids.

The Beta officers nearby immediately swarmed forward and tore apart the two creatures that had tried to hunt Omegas.

The Omegas turned again, looking toward the direction the dagger had flown from.

“Wuwawawa! It’s you, Julian! I knew you’d come save me!”

Anya Bell, the little cake, burst into tears. He looked ready to throw himself at Julian and cling to him so tightly no one could peel him off.

Unfortunately, they were too far apart.

He could not get to him at all.

Then Julian said seriously, “You lied to me.”

Anya said, “?”

Julian explained with strict precision, “You didn’t know I would come save you only happened to see you were in trouble, and since I was already here, I figured I might as well.”

,Anya said nothing

The Omegas said nothing.

Was that the point?

While Julian and Anya spoke, the Alphas finally moved.

One spirit form after another shrank down and began weaving through the central auditorium like the wolf cub, fighting those vicious, underhanded insectoids.

The researchers led by Dr. R and the Omegas led by Helen were guarded by the spirit forms to stop the tragedy from happening again

Orion did not step forward.

Ruin was already at the center of the fight, and Julian’s own skills clearly did not require him to worry.

So he immediately chose to redeploy troops.

The entire grand auditorium was sealed off. Every corner inside and outside the hall was searched to see any escaped insectoids could be caught.

After all, these insectoids had hidden inside living humans for a long time and hatched at the same

moment.

Even Orion, who had lived through another life, had never heard of such a thing.

As Orion considered the implications, every insectoid in the auditorium suddenly stopped moving.

Then, in the exact same rhythm, they began beating the thin membrane wings on their backs.

An eerie buzzing filled the air.

The researchers and lower-rank Omegas immediately felt the world spin.

Up and down reversed.

Soon, several Beta officers and even some Alpha spirit forms showed the same symptoms.

The first humans affected looked as if they had fallen into severe vertigo.

Worse, while that negative state continued, everyone watched the two mirror-winged insectoids that had killed the Omegas tremble slightly.

Then, inch by inch, they disappeared.

“Ah!”

Another scream cut through the auditorium.

This time, the victim was no researcher or Omega.

It was a strong Alpha standing close to the insectoid

[Ahhh, I’m dreaming, right? We’re at a medal ceremony How are there insectoids here They

they l

I saw them break out of people’s bodies. I’m still shaking This isn’t real tell me this isn’t real

[Guys, if insectoids can appear at a medal ceremony, is there anywhere in the Empire they can’t reach? Is humanity really going to lose

Countless comments swept across the livestream.

Helplessness.

Panic.

Doubt.

A sudden grief after overwhelming joy.

Under that mountain of emotions, all the confidence the defense battle had restored seemed to vanish
