Chapter 250 City in the Crown
Finished
“This must be what people mean when they say wisdom fruit grows on the Tree of Wisdom, and super- smart you and me stand right under it.”
Orion: “…”
Hm.
Was that really how the saying worked?
Whether Julian’s Tree of Wisdom had wisdom or not, Moonfall’s new headquarters site was settled.
At the current level of interstellar engineering, building a sanatorium on a giant Tree of Wisdom was not impossible at all.
Once Orion signed the approval, the finance office of the Second and Third Legions released a huge construction budget.
Purchasing teams spread across the galaxy.
Eco–friendly materials, specialized designers, structural engineers, construction teams with experience in living architecture…
Everything was bought or hired at top speed.
The plan was to build a city named Moonfall on the giant tree under one central rule.
Nature first.
The tree itself would be disturbed as little as possible.
And this was not an exaggeration.
The Tree of Wisdom’s crown stretched for hundreds of miles. It was not a continent, but it was far larger than the old Moonfall site.
It could hold an ecological city with ease.
Or, more accurately, an ecological military base.
“Once the spirit–gathering array starts and large batches of insectoid cores are fed into it, the Tree of Wisdom will be nourished further too. Its growth and load–bearing capacity should not be an issue.”
Julian stood before the giant tree’s massive heartwood.
His pale palm brushed over the pulsing golden veins at the base of the heartwood as his divine sense reached out, trying to contact the tree.
All things had spirits.
A Tree of Wisdom that had stood for tens of millions of years was naturally no exception.

Julian offered a deal.
He would use insectoid cores, energy stones, and arrays to nourish it.
In exchange, the tree would support Moonfall.
The tree spirit answered in its own way.

Vines and tender leaves wove themselves into a crown. A branch lifted the crown and gently set it on Julian’s
head.
It was welcoming this little immortal lord.
“It agreed.”
At the top of the giant tree, Julian wore the leafy crown and smiled brightly.
Green leaves framed him. Tiny drifting lights flowed around him like fireflies. The great tree rustled in the wind, its soft song offered to the only little elf in this vast forest.
“Thank you, Julian.”
Orion took the moonlit little elf’s hand.
His eyes were warm and gentle.
Once the tree spirit gave permission, Rowan personally drafted the military base’s rules.
Two–thirds of the document dealt with ecological protection.
They would live in mutual benefit with the Tree of Wisdom.
They would not destroy it.
They would not occupy it by force.
When construction began, the tree spirit also showed clear goodwill toward the Second and Third Legions.
It followed the designers‘ plans and adjusted certain branches where necessary.
It grew platforms.
It extended vines.
It bent paths into place.
Because of that cooperation, the builders were able to create level streets above the branches, vast plazas hidden under layers of leaves, and forest roads weaving between different crowns.
Interstellar construction was already fast.
With the tree spirit actively helping, a brand–new Moonfall Sanatorium, or rather, a green military base, took shape on the giant tree in only one week.

The first shipments to arrive were insectoid cores.
Finished
Batch after batch was stacked according to Julian’s array diagram, surrounding the Tree of Wisdom in a field of dense energy.
Divine sense became the brush.
Spiritual energy became the ink.
At noon that day, Julian stood before the heartwood and completed the grand array.
Countless insectoid cores crumbled into dust.
The moment spiritual energy began to circulate, the great tree swayed. Light poured through the sky like drifting fireflies.
The City of Moonfall was complete.
Early the next morning, the first group of wounded soldiers transferred with the military arrived.
They pressed against the starship windows, eyes wide, shock written plainly across their faces.
Ahead of them, a towering tree rose into the sky.
On its massive branches, Moonfall’s ecological buildings followed silver veins through the leaves. Points of light moved between the branches like living stars.
The Tree of Wisdom breathed wind.
With every new leaf that unfurled, another district glowed faintly through photosynthesis.
Then the starship entered the crown region.
Every wounded soldier onboard felt their breathing lighten.
The knife–sharp pain that had haunted them for so long because of their shattered psychic sea cores seemed to soften with each breath.
At first, they thought it was an illusion.
But after they moved into eco–wards, walked through the ecological plazas, ran beneath layered leaves, and breathed the impossibly fresh air among the branches…
They knew it was real.
Real beyond doubt.
And the new Moonfall was simply too beautiful.
Unfortunately, these old soldiers had very limited cultural vocabulary.
So they shouted “Holy shit” over and over, took photos of one another in hospital gowns, and posted them on StarNet.

Their captions were simple.
“XXX was here.”
“Holy shit. Unreal.”
“Too damn pretty.”
“Mom, life is a wide–open field.”
Overnight, Moonfall Sanatorium’s new headquarters shot straight onto the trending list.
Finished
Imperial netizens flooded the official Moonfall account and the Second and Third Legions‘ accounts, howling in the comments.
[Hey, Moonfall, any beds left at headquarters? Asking for a friend. A very real friend.]
[Please auction one. I am begging. I have too much money and nowhere to spend it. I want to go so bad, help.]
