The room went quiet.

Caleb Hayes, Laurie Rick, Rowan, and the others stopped smiling at once.

None of them needed an explanation.

They all knew what that barrier meant.

Orion had once tried to self-destruct.

In a certain sense, he had succeeded.

The only reason he was still alive was that three impossible things had happened at the same time.
