Outcast Omega Pampered by the Alpha General

Chapter 330 Crash Landing on Acheros

The swarm led by the Infernal Prison Bee was even more violent.

When the hellhead wasps gathered together, they looked almost like an imperial starship fleet.

Magma artillery filled the void.

Frusted

Their long-range firepower was so terrifying that many starships were forced down by the bombardment.

Warming up the star gate became impossible.

The tournament office and the healing teams behind them did not dare stop for even a second.

One slow step meant death.

So, without surprise, the Central War Zone’s star gate was soon gnawed apart by the insectoids.

And it was not only that gate.

The tournament leaders and instructors also saw the insectoids split off two smaller groups, apparently heading southeast and southwest.

“They stayed still until they moved. Once they moved, they struck like thunder. The insectoids have learned strategy. They are trying to cut off the retreat routes of the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Legions.”

The tournament’s chief director, a retired officer already two hundred eighty years old, gave a heavy sigh.

As the insectoid tide advanced faster and faster, more fleeing starships began crashing.

Harlan Turner quickly broadcast an order to the entire force and split the fleet into multiple groups.

The center formation could no longer turn. It had to keep drawing fire and pulling the insectoid tide forward.

The fleets on the two wings would gradually separate outward, then escape in batches toward the southeast and southwest.

The insectoid tide was like an avalanche.

To survive, they could not keep running in the same direction as the avalanche.

“Escort company, shift toward the center. Tournament office and healing teams, move to the wings. Push all Omega shielding devices to maximum. This is as far as we can escort you.”

Harlan’s voice was heavy aboard the command ship.

What did it mean for the escort company to draw fire?!

It meant that once the tournament office and healing teams escaped, the escort company would be the next group swallowed by the insectoids.

The bugs were stupid.

But not that stupid.

Once the escaping target shrank past a certain point, the swarm would absolutely rage.

Harlan had no time to think about that.

Better for him, the highest-ranking officer present, to die first than for everyone to die together.

“Move!”

At his command, the fleet split.

Imperial Military Academy’s ship had been relatively close to the center, so they were among the last back of starships to leave the formation.

“Head southeast. We are getting out!”

Quinton Martin, the team instructor, gave the order.

They had almost separated safely from the fleet when a small insectoid group suddenly rushed straight at them.

Maybe Harlan’s decoy force had shrunk too much.

Maybe it was for some other reason.

But the result was the same.

A swarm was chasing them.

Seeing the insectoids bite down on them and refuse to let go, Quinton ordered the starship to accelerate to full speed.

They were now between the front-line war zone and the outer star zone.

A war buffer zone.

But even after gathering everyone together, they could barely hold under the insectoids’ continuous assault.

“This does not make sense. Why are they still chasing us? What the insectoids need most right now is to rush toward the outer star zone, or surround the Fourth and Fifth Legions. Maybe even the Sixth…”

Someone tried to analyze the situation.

“This is abnormal. Unless there is something among us attracting them, why would these bugs keep attacking?”

Every Omega heading to the front wore a shielding device.

Insectoids below 2S-rank could not lock onto them accurately.

Even if they could…

when the Seventh Legion’s Omega healing teams had separated from the fleet earlier, the insectoids had not chased them this relentlessly.

Everyone looked at one another.

Then they all began carefully observing the insectoids’ attack pattern.

Julian did the same.

Soon, both Julian and the others discovered something.

These bugs seemed to be coming for him.

“Wherever Julian stands, the attacks get the fiercest. Damn. The bugs really have locked onto you.”

Shane Blackwell spoke with a tone that was half teasing, half mocking.

“Shane, do not say that.”
